You were my life

Do you remember when we first met?

We were just outside your flat, on an ironically sunny day.

Your tears were wasted on a man who had already left you

And it was me who wiped them away with care.

Do you remember our first visit to Starbucks together?

We talked for hours excitedly, ignoring the customers who stared us down

It was the first time I had seen such life in your eyes

And the day I realised, I was missing my heart.

Do you remember the first play we acted in together?

A stupid romance, where we were the two main protagonists.

We had to improvise, and you decided to kiss my cheek.

And I nearly froze on the spot, only saved by the cheering crowd.

Do you remember the first time you saw me cry?

Your ex had apologised, asking to get back together.

You met me one last time before moving away

Only leaving an empty goodbye to replace my heart.
