I woke up to muffled voices, but I did recognize them. They were owned by my own brother and new sister Lyla.
“Do you think she bites?” Jason asked. “Better not wake her up, you know, just in case.”
“I bet she bites. With that foul mouth and attitude of hers, I wouldn't be surprised if she went all ninja-naruto on you...” Lyla's voice was humored, but she sounded honest. She also sounded comfortable. And not to mention, she was also in the same room as my brother. The one who almost ass-crushed her face last night. Her voice was all calm and confident around him.
I didn't like the sound of it.
“Would be a shame if we woke her up, you'd never see her face so calm and...sane.” Jason sounded thoughtful. “Do you have a pen? Waterproof, preferably.”
My eyes jerked open.
“You son of a-” I started, but he hushed me down.
“Careful, the irony of those words backfires.” He chuckled and stepped back. Apparently they were both kneeling by my bed, studying me in my sleep. A shiver went down my spine. This was somewhat a tad bit creepy.
I noticed Lyla backing too, sitting on her bed, right beside Jason. Actually, they were inches away from touching.
How long have I been downed and entered a parallel universe?
“You two, what's going on?” I yawned and narrowed my eyes. They both furrowed their brows and looked all innocently and confused.
“What do you mean?” Lyla asked with a small laugh.
I sat up and pointed accusingly at them both. “You look like you're enjoying his presence and visa versa.”
“Two in the afternoon and you've already started to accuse us of sleeping together.” Jason shook his head. “Only you, Kay, only you.”
The breath got caught in my throat and I choked. My eyes started to wander on their faces. They were both so calm and nonchalant.
“Jason,” I said slowly and twinned my hands together.
“Yes?” he answered immediately.
“I didn't say anything about 'sleeping together'.”
“Oh,” Jason's swallow was loud and clear. “You sure?”
I calmly stood up, put on my flip flops, jeans and a white top, all in a hurried pace. And before I left the room, I had only one thing left to say.
“Hope you're on the pill, Lyla. I don't want to call MTV just yet.”
It didn't bother me really. The fact that my brother and good friend Lyla was already sleeping together, that didn't bother me at all. But how would it work out for them? As long as it doesn't get serious..
Oh well, that's out of my hands. I'm just going to head over to the small coffeshop this boarding school nearly affords, enjoy my cappuccino and head over to my room where probably, most likely, my brother and friend will be humping as if their life depended on it.
My life is nothing but rainbows and fairies.
“Hey,”
I turned around and was met with reaching hands with two items. The left, a coffecup, and the right, a Snickers.
I looked into his eyes and again the guilt washes over my as a long wanted shower. Looking into those eyes made me realize that the thought of using him as my tool was now not even ideal. I didn't even want to have to think about it any longer. It was out of the question.
