First day of college...
Nothing much happened except for Mia showing her displeasure with Gale's decision to let me join the same college and class as her.

From what I had gathered from the workers in the mansion, Mia's mom, Lori, was Gale's in-law. Cindy's mom and Lori were stepsisters, a very complex relationship between the two families.
They had moved in, an arrangement made by Gale's family as a way to bring the two close together and to also offer him the emotional support he needed but would never show.

Of course, Gale was cold towards them, feeling as if they were interrupting his life.
But who could blame them, he was rich, devilishly handsome(an actual devil in my life), dreamy gray eyes, a dominant aura, and tall...damn tall.

But Mia's jealousy felt pointless since I wasn't there to ride on Gale's wealth.
Damn!
He had brought me back to be a prisoner who would live out the life he had planned for Cindy.

*Knock-knock*

Without waiting for a reply due to the hot cup of coffee in my hand, I unlocked the door and pushed my way in.
"Stop!" An order boomed in the room.

My eyes jerked up and straight to the man seated behind the desk. He was glaring at me, almost tearing my skin and bones apart to scan my heart.
"Y-yes?"

"Who let you in? Get out!"
His unexpected roar startled me, leading to a spasm in my arms and head.
The sudden movements caused the hot coffee to spill on my hand. Needles of pain erupted all at once under the burnt skin but I held it in and grasped the cup firmly with my other hand.

"Sorry!" I breathed, tears stinging the back of my eyeballs.

"Save your sorries. Now go make me another cup, and then come clean up your mess."

'Has my soul gone to hell already?'
I questioned my pitiful self as I exited the room. I once had a perfect life full of smiles and love. Who knew a little mistake would turn my entire life upside down?

After five minutes of struggling with my burnt hand, I managed to make another cup of coffee, ordinary coffee.
I was lucky that the kitchen wasn't far from Gale's office, and there were no nosy workers along the white hallways.

Just like the last time, I knocked on Gale's door and held my breath. As I waited for his invitation, I began gathering courage from the corners of my soul while counting from a hundred backward. It helped calm me in my nervousness attacks.

Two entire minutes passed by, making it clear what was happening...he was ignoring me on purpose.

'Fight Maya, fight!'
Biting my lips as a way to lock in the courage slowly seeping out of me, I knocked again.
On my third knock, an irritated yet husky voice answered, "Come in dammit!"

'Here we go.'
Without wasting a single breath, I rushed in quickly and went straight to his desk.
"Here's your coffee." I put on a fake smile while presenting it to him.

Due to the natural light flowing in through the glass wall behind him, his shoulder-length strawberry-blonde hair emitted a reddish color, giving him a cool vibe that contrasted with the cold expression on his face.
With disgust in his gray eyes, Gale brought the rim of the cup to his lips and took a small sip.

One sip was all it took to have him raise his murderous glare at me.
"This coffee is cold."

'You made me wait outside for God-knows-how-long!' I wanted to scream at him so badly. The impulse to jump on him and pull his hair out one strand after another made my hands grow into hard fists.
"Do, do you need me to make you-" I started talking through clenched teeth but he cut in.

"No need."
He put the cup down with a noisy clink.
"Drink it yourself."

I took a step back, scared by his flat words.
But Gale seemed to care less. He just pushed the cup towards me and glared back into my eyes. "Every cup of coffee you mishandle, you'll be drinking it or paying for it."

My horrified eyes fell on the coffee.
I hated coffee for reasons I didn't know myself. I just hated it.
"Stop wasting my time Maya, drink!"

"But..bu-"

"But what?"

Our eyes collided, a dangerous glower against a timid gaze.
"I hate coffee." It came out as a restrained whisper which made me sound as if I hadn't eaten in days.

"Oh really?" Gale asked, a sarcastic tone and smile appearing on him.
With his eyes still fixed on me, he rose from his swivel chair to his six-foot-five height.
Only then did I notice how tall he looked against the light, and how younger he seemed than his actual age.

Dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt and long black pants, the man walked around the large desk, stopping only next to me.
Seeing him that close reminded me of that damned night in the club.
Oh, how I had whined my waist and rubbed my ass on his crotch.
The memory brought heat to my face as embarrassment colored me red.

I quickly whipped my head to the side, avoiding his piercing scowl which felt ready to take my life.

"I said, drink the damn coffee."

"I'll pay."

"Alright, where's the money?"

An arrow of irritation stabbed my chest, pushing me to muster the courage to shoot my own glare up at him.
"You took it away!"

Gale scoffed.
"No money? Then drink the damn coffee or I will do it myself."

His threat made me frown.
But also arose the rebellious side of me.
Do it himself? Drink it himself or make me drink it?
So confusing.
I answered his threat with a silent glare, daring him to do his worst.

Unexpectedly, Gale went through with it.
He suddenly gripped my jaw before picking up the cup.
"I don't bluff little girl." Were his words as he pressed the cup to my mouth forcibly.
I shrieked and started fighting him, fighting for my dignity.
My resistance grew into a scuffle which led to Gale moving closer and moving the hand from my mouth to the back of my neck.

Like a parent trying to feed his toddler, Gale persisted, which led to the coffee spilling on both of us.
While it wasn't hot, it still stung as it penetrated under my t-shirt and between my cleavage.
It stained his upper abdomen, leaving a large patch that would be noticeable.

Seeing the mess, my heart froze.
What would he do to me?

"Argh! What have you done?" Gale bellowed glaring at his wet shirt. He then gazed at the cup in his hand which I couldn't see inside. And with one seep, he poured what was left of the coffee into his mouth.
I frowned, feeling confused.
Had he just drunk it?

My confusion was cleared when he put the cup behind him before yanking me to himself. His strong hand suddenly grabbed me by my cheeks, pressed them hard to open my mouth. And without any warning, Gale lowered his lips to mine then poured the coffee from his mouth and into mine.

All the blood running through my veins felt as if it had vanished.
The feel of his lips against mine left me numb and dumb. This could be counted as a kiss. My best friend's dad had just...kissed me.
