His daughter and I were once the best of friends. Closer than thieves and tighter than a knitted scarf. And then I fucked up big time.
A mistake that created the greatest distance between us and led to a deep grudge against me.
He wants to make me...

My lips quaked from a nervous smile as I gazed up to meet Nikolai's intense eyes which were trained solely on the man towering behind me. As I prepared my mouth to speak something assuring, Gale took the lead. "I'll be taking this 'young woman with me. Have a lovely day, Maya's coursemate," said giving my shoulders a little firm squeeze.
"Wait!" Nikolai stepped forward, his eyes lowering to meet mine while softening. "What about that thing I was asking for?"
My eyes dilated with dread. His usefulness wasn't needed at the moment and I didn't want Gale to learn of the relationship I was cultivating with him. "Oh, that! I'll call you later," replied nervously.
"Call?!" Gale's deep voice questioned frighteningly close to my ear while his hold on my shoulders stiffened. Fuck! In my tense moment, I had forgotten Gale's instructions about my phone.
I turned my head to catch a glimpse of his fuming face and silently swallowed a hard lump. "Can we talk about this somewhere else?" I whispered begging him with my eyes.
"That sounds delightful. For you have a lot of explaining to do." Another low-key threat. But I just nodded, wanting to end the awkward moment the three of us were sharing.
We looked Nikolai's way and I put on a plastic smile that wasn't too wide to look unbelievable. "I'll see you tomorrow." With that, I was turned around to face the cars parked a distance from us.
As we stepped out of the shade, I wriggled my shoulders, freeing them. But that only had Gale move his hands from my shoulders to my arm before yanking me behind him. I was given my freedom back when he shoved me inside a black Porsche which I had never seen before.
One minute later, we were driving through the gates.
He said nothing, just focused on the road ahead. A scene which felt familiar to Nikolai's over a week ago. In the silence, I found comfort and forgot about Gale's presence by replacing his aura with my usual driver's. But it didn't last long, not when he hit the brakes suddenly. I was shoved forward and saved by the belt just in time.
"Jesus! Do you want to kill m-"
"What were you two talking about?" He asked fiercely. "And what did he ask you for?"
I sighed internally and faced him, readying my defense mechanism to fight for the last shred of dignity I still had. I'd not let him call me a slut again. Not when he was more hornier than a dog in heat. "What business of yours is that?"
He glared at me for ten seconds, his glasses long tossed away to let me have a clear view of his good-looking face...at those charming gray eyes. I looked away first, unable to hold his glare in case I accidentally spilled an honest answer. "He wanted to borrow my notes," I lied.
"Notes?!" Gale sneered.
When I didn't respond, he drove the car back on the road and sped heading west instead of east. My strong-bitch shield was slowly broken down as fear darkened my soul. Where was he taking me? We were now on a lonely highway that stretched through the woods which led to the outskirts of the city.
I was sweaty. Nervous. Terrified. And yet couldn't bring myself to ask if he was taking me to some secluded place to end my life. I had been ready for this moment since the day he told me to run and live out the last days of my freedom. 'This soon? I just wish I had had some more time to figure out things. Oh well, I've outlived my time.' I was accepting my fate as the tension ate away my courage and will to fight back.
For another hour, we drove along the highway while constantly feeling like we were being watched by someone from the woods. I hugged my abdomen, hoping to calm the disaster of a panic forming in there.
Not once, did Gale glance my way or bother to inform me where I'd be meeting my end. Perhaps he planned on tossing me in a river? Or did he want to blow my brains out and bury me in some desolate place where he would make sure no living soul ever stepped foot in? So many possibilities flashed through my head until the feel of my beating heart faded.
So lost in my crazy thoughts, I missed Gale veering off the highway and picking a narrower road. I only realized it when he pulled me out of my mind by calling my name.
"Get out!" He ordered sternly while unbuckling.
Ignoring his words, I tossed my eyes all around us for a way to escape him. A wooden cabin stood proudly in front of us, a river flowing to its left, a green smooth road behind us, and talk trees surrounding us from every direction except where the river was.
My heart dropped in the pit of my stomach. He had really brought me here to kill me Even if ran into the woods, I had no idea which direction to take. If there were wild animals or traps, I'd probably die slowly and painfully. Which was pretty much the same thing Gale was about to put me through.
"What are you waiting for?" He questioned noticing my hesitation.
"Co-co-coming."
Internally defeated and hopeless, I shut the door, leaving behind my bag and phone. They'd be useless to me in the afterlife anyway.
He held the door open, waiting for my jelly body to get there. He didn't dare smile. Why would he when he was about to have my blood cover his hands like oil? As I got to the last step, he reached out to take my arm and I closed my eyes as he pulled me into the cabin, submitting to fate.
The door was banged shut and my body pushed on it. His left hand came to hook my throat, but still, I didn't open my eyes. I didn't want to see my death.
"Seems you've been quite busy making friends while I was away," Gale began, his breaths growing closer and closer to my face. "Is he the reason you wanted your phone back, hm?"
"N...no," I managed to breathe through my fear.
He chuckled in my ear, his fingers digging a little into my neck but not strangling me. "Why are you scared? Do I frighten you?"
"N-no-not rea-"
"Don't lie to me!"
He could feel my heartbeat. I should have realized it sooner. But it didn't change a thing. I wasn't planning on being honest with him even on my last breath. "Answer me, Maya." His hot breaths were getting furious by the seconds while awaiting my answer. One which would never come.
Silence.
Gale sighed. "Very well then. I should remind you who's in charge." He suddenly flipped me around to face the door. My gasp did little to ease his rash actions, he just did whatever he wanted which ended with my pants yanked down my ass.
"What are you..." It hit me right then. This bastard wasn't planning on killing me. At least not yet. Wet fingers were sent to invade my normal moist entrance, prompting me to release one loud gasp and clamp shut my thighs.
"Open them!" Gale snapped.
"No!" I retaliated boldly, forgetting for a brief second I had given up on life not so long ago.
