I'm sitting staring at the test, a surge of disbelief washes over me, mingled with a flicker of hope and wonder. My eyes widening in astonishment, mirroring the unexpectedness of the revelation before me.
Then, a slow, disbelieving smile starts to spread across my cheeks, tentative at first, like the first rays of dawn breaking through the darkness. A smile born of incredulity and wonder, tinged with a hint of apprehension about what this newfound discovery might mean for our future.
My gaze flickers back and forth between the test and the tiny plus sign that confirms the news. I can't quite believe my eyes, as if I need to see the result again and again to reassure myself that it's real.
The truth sinks in, and a rush of emotions washes over me - joy, awe, followed by fear and panic. A sense of gratitude for this unexpected blessing, overshadowed by the dread of reality.
As I sit, staring at the positive test, acutely aware that my life will never be the same again. And yet, despite the uncertainty of what the future may hold, there's a profound sense of hope and anticipation for the journey that lies ahead.
What am I bringing this child into?
I walk down the stairs, nerves surging through me, I spot James standing at the dining table. Papers everywhere as he searches for the next clue of the next horcrux.
We've practically moved into Grimmauld place, Sirius seems happier here, it's nice to see him happy for once. Sirius has always seemed to have a rather lost complexion, uncertain of feelings, like he's hiding something.
I am hiding something.
This news could be detrimental to the future of the hunt, what happens if I get hurt now? It's not just me I have to worry about, I have my baby.
A large smile covers James' face as he looks up and sees me standing here, his smile is ever so warm and comforting. It's like a burst of sunlight breaking through storm clouds, radiating warmth and joy to all who behold it.
It begins as a subtle curve of his lips, gradually spreading into a wide grin that lights up his entire face. His eyes twinkle with mischief and good humour, reflecting the mischievous spirit that resides within him. There's a contagious energy to his smile, infectious and irrepressible, capable of lifting the spirits of those around him.
As he smiles, dimples deepen in his cheeks, adding to the charm of his boyish grin. It's a smile that speaks volumes, conveying a sense of camaraderie and love that transcends words.
My James, the man who I entrust my life to and yet I am keeping a secret from him. A secret I so desperately want to tell him, but part of me doesn't want the world to change just yet.
Maybe I ask someone, someone who may offer some insight and support.
Thea?
While it is a rather unusual situation, she has become one of my friends. A wonderful one at that.
Finding friendship in an unexpected place is like stumbling upon a hidden gem. At first, it may feel as if you're wandering through unfamiliar terrain, uncertain of what lies ahead. Then, in a moment of serendipity, you find yourself drawn to someone or something you never expected.
As we got to know each other, we realised that despite our differing pasts, we have a surprising amount in common. There's a sense of mutual understanding and acceptance that transcends superficial differences, forging a connection that defies explanation. With each passing day, our friendship has blossomed, like a fragile seed taking root in fertile soil.
She will help... I hope.

I stand in the doorway, looking over at Thea as she reads through pages of notes about the next Horcrux. Standing, summoning the courage to talk to her about a secret is like being on the edge of a precipice, teetering between the safety of silence and the uncertainty of revelation.
Each step forward feels weighted with the burden of the truth, yet propelled by the hope of understanding and acceptance. In the quiet moments before the conversation begins, there's a knot of apprehension that twists in the pit of my stomach, threatening to choke off my words. Doubt and fear gnaw at the edges of my resolve, whispering tales of rejection and betrayal.
But somewhere deep within, a spark of determination flickers to life - a flicker of hope that dares me to believe in the power of vulnerability and honesty. With a deep breath, I steel myself against the tide of doubt, summoning the courage to face my fears head-on.
As I approach the person I trust enough to confide in, my heart pounds in my chest, each beat echoing like a drumbeat of uncertainty. My palms grow clammy, and my throat feels dry, but I press on, fueled by the knowledge that silence is no longer an option.
When the words finally spill forth, they come haltingly at first, stumbling over the weight of their own significance. But with each passing moment, they gain momentum, propelled forward by the raw force of my emotions.
"Oh Lily" Thea stands and hugs me.
Her reassuring, warm embrace is like being wrapped in a cocoon of safety and comfort, shielded from the storms of life by the strength and warmth of this hug. As I sink into her embrace, the tension in my muscles begins to melt away, replaced by a sense of tranquillity and peace. It's as if the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders, leaving you feeling light and buoyant.
The warmth of her hug radiates against my skin, a soothing balm that eases the ache of loneliness and uncertainty. In that moment, there's no need for words or explanations - just the simple act of being held is enough to convey all the comfort and support I need. It's a refuge from the chaos of the outside world, a sanctuary where I can find solace and strength in the embrace of someone who cares deeply for me, despite our varying pasts.
As I linger in the embrace, time seems to stand still, allowing me to savour the warmth and intimacy of the moment. It's a fleeting yet profound experience, one that leaves an indelible imprint on my heart and soul, reminding you that no matter what challenges may come my way, I will always have a safe haven in the arms of my friend.
I needed this, her hug speaks a thousand words, all of support and kindness.
"Thank you" A tear rolls down my cheek as we separate from the hug.
"I'm here for you okay, I know it's difficult" Thea takes a deep breath, "I have a friend she's in a somewhat similar situation, but the one thing that you have that she doesn't".
I look up, searching for the answer in her eyes.
"You have James, who loves you and is so supportive of you" She says holding my hands in hers.
