I tried to get into contact with the two, but no answer. How could this shit happen to me at a time like this? I started to blame myself, I could've been there to help, but then I shook that feeling off. I took a shower, and headed to the hospital. Which is where shit takes a wild turn.
I got there, asked the front desk where to find him, and took off for that room. When I got up to his room, I was surprised to see him still alive, and functioning. The saying, "The real don't die" is true. I made it known I was there.
"Yo son, I'm here, you good?"
"Nah, I'm fucked up, I don't know how I'm still up right now to be honest."
I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not, so I just moved on.
"Man, we HAVE TO find out who did this, you see the faces, or anything?"
"Yeah, now that you're here, I can tell you the story...I was on the way to grab some food, and your two dickhead friends P and Reed bust in, on some shit, talking about the streets been talking, and they said they want top billing...I told them I couldn't do it, I gave it to you, and that's when they snapped. After that, I managed to call you and give you that message, then P shot me."
I was dumbfounded, these my niggas we talking about...and they go and do some shit like this. Damn man.
"Lucky they only shot me once, I wouldn't be here now if not. But after I got hit, they ran through my shit, took all my money and product, and took off. I think you might be up next."
Man, I can't with this right now, not only is this shit super hectic, but I go back to school with these niggas next week, now I have to watch my back there too. This doesn't add up to me at all, honestly. Niggas too money hungry, they acting like I wasn't going to put them on when I was up, but you know what they say...give niggas an inch and they take a mile. I looked back up at Snow, and gave him this promise:
"I got your back, I'll find these niggas and best believe I'll handle this. Stay up man, I got mad respect for you...more than my bitch ass dad."
Then I walked toward the exit, but something came to Snow's mouth.
"Before you leave, I have to tell yo-"
Before he could finish that sentence, the door opened, and it was my mom of all people. I've had enough surprises for today.
"Ma? What you doing here?"
Snow spoke up, I could tell it hurt for him to speak.
"Sit down, you need to hear this. You want to tell him Yolanda? Or me?"
"I'll do it." I never heard my mom so serious. "Okay, Kaide, I'll get to the chase...I used to date Terrell, you may know him as otherwise, back before you were born, until he went to jail. I didn't know it then, but while right before he went to jail, he got me pregnant, with you. The guy you know as your dad, was some other guy that I had a one night stand with, but nothing came out of that. So in a nutshell, Rell is your dad, Kaide."
At this point, I could pass out. This is absolutely too much for me to deal with. First I find out my two main niggas try to take out our mentor, and then figure out my mentor is my dad? Shit man. I couldn't take it anymore, I had to go cool down.
"Yo, I gotta go, I apologize, I just need to take this in by myself."
I left, and walked around for a couple hours, trying to get my head back to normal.
