❝ i don't think i've said this before, but i like the way your hand feels in mine. ❞
their date led them straight to the angel's share. they both weren't too hungry because of the lunch they shared earlier. something about the atmosphere at the tavern felt different than usual. but really, the atmosphere between y/n and kaeya was different. unlike their usual energy neither of them were talking. they couldn't even make eye contact. the only sounds were from lively conversations around them and the occasional sound of one of them drinking a sip.
kaeya wanted to die. he had no clue what to say. it was blatantly clear that y/n invited him on a date because she liked him back. back. he didn't know when or how (well maybe because he always gets insanely happy whenever he sees her) it happened but it just did. would he have lived his life in complete obliviousness to his own feelings if she didn't take the first move? flirting was one thing, but how does someone show affection for a loved one. oh archons he needed another drink.
y/n was feeling equally as eager to face death. she was the one that invited him out but now she couldn't say a single word. she felt that she had done enough by initiating the date, so kaeya should pick up on it and keep it going. at least that's what she wishes for to avoid any further awkward silence. why couldn't she just say something? anything really!
