The cold air whispered around her, lightly tugging at the loose strands of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail. Her breath fogged up as she exhaled, feet hitting the pavement at an even pace as she jogged along the park's border. Music played softly though her earphones as she gazed out at the river to her right. Light sparkled, their reflection blurry and inconsistent.

Something strange was mixed in the air tonight, and when she inhaled, an uneasy feeling settled in her gut. A shrill bark trapped her attention and she glanced before her. A small, fluffy white dog sat in her path, tongue lolling out its mouth to the side. It was wearing a custom jacket of some sort, and she glanced to the side, reading the words on the back...

God Dog

She fought back a smile.

What had the Chairman said about that gang? A singular leader, a dumb kid with a revenge mission. Someone who only did things once, and perfectly at that. His large, puppy-dog eyes flashed into her mind. "Eden! Since when do you run off-?"

And now she was staring right into those eyes. No innocent glint, though. There was a backdrop of something darker. A void she had seen too many times. Johan had been shorter than her when they met at Big Deal.

How crazy the difference between them had seemed back then.

'Why are all these attractive men so lanky? ' She thought to herself as she held his intense gaze. She knew he recognized her, that flash in his eyes had been too obvious to miss. Eden sensed the tension and barked again, causing their gazes to snap away from the other with a dangerous spark. "You out here for a night run?" (Y/N) asked casually, holding her earbud back towards her ear. "Join me, but try to keep up."

They didn't need to say much, an comfortable silence laced with understanding settled between them. The only sound was their footsteps and slight panting. This included Eden, of course. Johan couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her, she knew that much when she felt that prickly feeling of being watched.

"Like what you see?" (Y/N) chuckled, keeping her gaze trained forward.

"No idea what you're talking about." Johan muttered, sweating slightly. He was embarrassed that he got caught staring at her, but he should have expected it from the girl from Big Deal. Did he just say-think that? No way. He had a lot of questions bubble up in his throat, but he stuffed them down, just wanting to enjoy their run, even if was a spur of the moment. What an odd way to reunite after all these years.
