Her cold blew over in about a week and after the crime she was exposed to again, of having to jump into the Han River, (Y/N) decided she deserved some compensation. Walking into the golden Star Coffee on the corner of the street, she grinned evilly.

Swindling drinks on the house should be easy, since Jace was on his shift right now. Making her way over, she plopped herself down on to the stools near the cash register where he currently stood. Propping herself up on her elbows, she smiled. "Hey, Jace."

"Oh, hey (Y/N). It's good to see you got over that cold." He said with a smile, surprised at her sudden appearance. Something in her grin told him she was there on a mission, "What can I get for you?"

"Speaking of that cold..." She grinned, blinking up at him, "My drink is on the house right? Since, you know, I only got it since I was making Vasco's birthday memorable."
He laughed at her, shaking his head as he prepared a customers order, "Then you should be blackmailing Zack. He's the one who involved the river in the first place."
"You're right. Maybe I should throw him in and wait until he sneezes."

He laughed, shaking his head as he prepared her usual order. Glancing around the cafe as she waited patiently, she noticed Jiho sitting across from a taller boy. "Since when does your coworker know Jiho? Are they friends?" (Y/N) asked suspiciously.

"Ah..." Jace said, glancing at them over her shoulder. "Those two I'm not so sure about. I'm worried about them, you know. I think they're getting too involved with gambling."
"Gambling, huh?" She pondered, watching them converse, Jace's coworker on the phone to someone. She didn't believe in gambling, even though it was kinda how she made her money, but its not like she was the one placing bets and blowing her money away.

"Jiho, him and the boss happen to be around here... you wanna meet them?" Okay, so eavesdropping was bad. But she felt obligated to protect Jiho, even if this situation was his doing.
"Sure! It would be great to meet them," Jiho answered after a slight unsure pause, "I like connections!"
"You gotta keep them tip secret from the boss!"
"Of course!"

(Y/N) shared a glance with Jace he handed her (f/d). "Well, maybe now's the chance to stop him." With a sigh, she stirred her drink with it's straw. Jace knew would have asked for a straw anyway, so he had just given one to her. After a few minutes of... well, waiting to see the 'boss' (Y/N) was bored. "I'm going to the bathroom."

In the span of the few minutes (Y/N) was gone, the boss and a man by the name of Jake Kim finally arrived. The boss left, only after giving Jiho some cash. Great fuel for the fire of gambling. Now, they were going out for a drink. It's not like Jiho was underage or anything.

Turning the corner back into the seating area, she looked for Jace. Noting that he wasn't by the cash register anymore, she wondered if she really would get the drink on the house. But as her gaze stopped on a tall man in a checkered jacket with his hand on Jace's shoulder, she frowned.

She wasn't gonna let some wannabe gangster intimidate her friend. 'Hold on... checkered jacket? Nah, its a coincidence. There was not way this was the same dude poking around Carousel. Then again, Jace mentioned something about gambling... Okay, thinking is a waste of time.'

Maneuvering around the group, she made it seem like she was just walking in. Walking past him, she deliberately knocked his shoulder, causing him to step away from Jace and remove his hand. "Oh, my bad-" She spoke snarkily but suddenly froze. They locked eyes, she barely recognized him. There was no way this guy was her Jake.

"Uh-" As she tried to pull herself together, Jake quickly walked past Jace.
"You're lucky," He muttered, pulling his gaze away from her. "Let's go, Jiho."
Watching them leave, she frowned. "Thanks, (Y/N)." Jace exhaled. "Now you can really have that drink for free." Noticing her withdrawn expression, he gently touched shoulder, "You good?"

"Yeah... I just thought that was someone I knew."
