"Good, your job will be to....become her personal aid!" he said in a cheery tone and y/n deadpanned at him
"There are like....so many other people in this castle who qualify higher than I, what's your motive?"
"What makes you think I have a motive?" he feigned innocence
"You always...have a motive" y/n replied without a pause
Weeellllll...since you're a mage.....I feel better putting my dear Navier in your hands!" he smiled
"Shouldn't you be addressing the Former Empress with more decorum than 'my dear Navier?'" y/n raised an eyebrow and Mckenna rolled his eyes. The two often bantered like siblings rather than an upcoming King and a daughter of the Grand Duchess
"But we're getting married :D!"
"Yeah. I can tell"
"Will you accept?"
"Yes, of course I will"
"Good! I'll have you greet her on the night she arrives! You may leave"
