A FEW DAYS LATER: NAVIER'S CHAMBERS
Rose, Mastas, y/n, and Navier sat in her chambers
y/n and Rose were trimming flowers while Mastas cleaned her lance
"Um..Your Majesty and Lord Kosair aren't twins are you?" Mastas asked
"No, we're not" Navier replied
"Oh.."
"Why? Are you interested in him?" Rose asked with a grin
"Yes" Mastas said boldly
Rose and y/n gave each other a quick look before looking back to Mastas
"My brother says he's very strong. I'd like to take him on, one on one"
"One on one...you mean in terms of a duel right?" Mastas asked
"Your Majesty! Don't you think she has a surprisingly dirty mind!" Mastas turned to Navier
"No I-!" Rose tried to defend herself "Usually when a lady says that she's taken interest in a knight it doesn't mean that she wants to spar with him!! Right, y/n?"
"Hm? Oh yeah, Rose is right. It's usually a romantic interest, Miss Mastas"
"Are you sure you haven't been reading too many romance novels?" Mastas shot back
"Miss Rose, Miss y/n...who are the most popular figures in high society in the Western Kingdom?" Navier asked
"That would be Duke Riverty and Miss Merlaney" Rose responded
"Just those two?" Navier responded
"King Heinrey used to be the most popular, followed by those two. But that is likely to change now. We can't treat His Majesty as a prominent member of high society now that he's on the throne" y/n added "Duke Riverty and Miss Merlaney are closely related. Duke Riverty is her uncle actually"
"Are they both on Lady Krista's side?" Navier asked
"Duke Riverty is but Miss Merlaney is not. Miss Merlaney was one of the potential candidates to become Queen, and she even had a an argument with Lady Krista. However...it won't be easy to win her over"
"That's alright...I don't need her to be on my side" Navier replied
Rose and y/n made eye contact in surprise
"Miss y/n, do you remember the name of the journalist who interviewed me last time?"
"You're speaking about Mr. Jannal right?" y/n replied "The article he wrote which featured quotes from Your Majesty caused quite a stir throughout the kingdom for a while"
"If that journalist is still in the palace...would you mind telling him to come see me?"

y/n returned to her seat after handing the new article to Navier
"It's a well-written article" she noted as she went to the door to leave after requesting to be excused
Just as she opened the door Heinrey walked in
She and the rest of the ladies-in-waiting curtsied as he entered the room
