TW: talks of torture/violence
Cas groans as he blinks his eyes open, unsure of where he is. He tries to lift his head but the room starts spinning.
"Careful Cas. Don't move too much." Corvus says as he quickly scoots over to him, trying to steady him.
Cas lays back down in front of Corvus, looking up at him. "I'm sorry this is my fault-"
"No it's not don't try that with me. You did what you could. We'd probably be dead if it weren't for your protection ring."
Cas opened his mouth trying to protest but stopped when he saw the look on Corvus's face. Slowly with the help of Corvus he sat up and looked around. They were in a small cell, probably meant for only one person. Luckily neither seemed to be hurt too badly.
"How are we going to get out of here?" He said looking to Corvus.
"I tried to open a portal earlier but I think there's an anti magic field around the prison."
Cas nodded, "Smart but unfortunate."
He studied the lock on their cell door. All of their belongings had been taken but he wondered if? He checked his pockets and there was lockpicking tools he had stashed away just incase. Pulling them out he began working on the lock.
"Where the fuck did you get those?" Corvus whisper yelled.
"Don't ask questions you're not going to like the answer to."
Corvus stared in shock as the lock clicked open.
"Can you help me up, we might be able to get out but I don't think I can walk very well."
Corvus put Cas's arm around his shoulders and helped him through the door. Looking around he saw a door up some stairs to their right that he had seen some guards come through. Either this was the way out or they were going to find some serious trouble. He led Cas up the stairs and through the door finding it empty on the other side. This was scarily easy. The two crept silently through the hallway careful to avoid any guards but there didn't seem to be any on patrol.
"This is starting to worry me. Where are all the guards?" Corvus whispered to Cas.
"Well what do we have here. You two aren't supposed to be out here." A guard said as he walked around the corner. "You know I was following you two to see what would happen. Normally those that end up here just wait out the few days they're sentenced for but you two seem to be more trouble than you look."
Corvus stared back at him. "Just leave us alone we haven't done anything. We were passing through and were arrested for no reason."
"I think you're lying. Seize them."
More guards came out from behind the boys yanking Cas away from Corvus. One held a very weak Cas while the other forced Corvus to his knees, chaining his hands together. They were led back to their cell, one of the guards attached the chains on Corvus to the floor while the other still held Cas, not taking him into the cell.
"I think you two need to learn a lesson starting with this one. He's the reason you broke out isn't he?" The guard sneered at Corvus.
"Leave him alone!" He yelled but it made no difference, the guards locked the cell door once more and left with Cas.
Not long after they left Corvus could hear sounds coming from the hallway they went to. He could hear faint banging and yelling. What were they doing down there? Was Cas ok? What's going on? Then he heard it. The screaming. It was faint but it was still there. It sounded like Cas. It didn't last long but it kept coming and the panic was starting to set in for Corvus. What where they doing to him? Why is this happening? Another yell then silence. Then another. He couldn't take hearing it anymore.
