After many hours of training, Caspian could barely pay attention.

"I think that's enough for today you look like you're about to drop," Corvus said looking at Caspian who was about to hit his head on the desk again.

"Yeah, that's probably best."

Caspian closed his books and rubbed his hands down his face.

"Before I go and look for some more books and the prophecy for tomorrow, Do I have permission to return without you summoning me?"

"Oh, uh yeah I suppose so. That would be easier."

"Alright get some rest I'll see you tomorrow."

"Ok, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Corvus left and looked around his room.

He couldn't believe this was finally happening, at first, he thought this was just a dream. A cruel one if that. He knew that Caspian had a long way to go before he was ready to change Hell, but Corvus was going to make sure that Caspian would be. He walked towards the large black bookshelf standing against the wall and slowly pushed it to the side. Behind it was a thin outline cut in the wall in the shape of a door, Corvus pushed on it and the door pulled back and slid to the side.
Inside was a staircase that led down to a small room. Bookshelves lined two walls, a desk sat pushed up against one of the other walls with tapestry banners depicting battles and prophecies. He walked towards a chest against one wall and searched through it looking through the scrolls pilled in there. Finally, he found what he was looking for and pulled out an old and weathered scroll. Opening it up he read it out loud to no one but himself.

"From light to dark the kingdom of wealth and prosperity will fall,

A new rule will destroy all, magic new and old will bring hope soon to unfold,

The Demon King will fall to secrets once untold,

And the rightful heir of old will rise to a once again kingdom of gold."

He stood there, reading and rereading the last line of the prophecy to himself.

"I hope this is true," He paused gently putting the scroll away. "For all our sakes I truly hope it is."

                                                                              The Next Day

Caspian sat by his desk reading The History of Hell that William had given him.

"God this doesn't make any sense." He said exasperated. Closing the book, he got up from his desk and walked around the room. When is Corvus supposed to appear? It's almost noon.

"Hello? Cas, you here?"

Caspian nearly jumped out of his skin hearing Corvus talk. Quickly spinning around to face where he thought Corvus would be he saw what looked like a portal in the middle of his home.

"What the fuck?" He asked confusedly. Without warning someone walked through the portal holding a few books and a very old-looking scroll.

"Holy shit! Who are you?" Caspian yelled holding out a long bo staff at the man.

"Calm down it's just me."

"Corvus? You scared me for a second I thought you were one of the king's men or something."

He stared at Corvus as he lowered his staff. Corvus was tall with short black hair and if he looked close enough Cas could see some red streaking through his hair. He wore black jeans with rips in them and a black and red bleached shirt.  Punk demon, nice.  Cas thought.

"Sorry about that Cas. I found the scroll with the prophecy last night and I thought I should bring it. Didn't mean to scare you." Corvus said startling Caspian out of whatever trance he was in.

"It's ok. Nice to meet you in person. You are here, right?" Cas said walking up and poking Corvus in the face. Corvus laughed quietly and the gesture.

"Yes, I'm here. Nice to meet you too." He said sticking his hand out. Cas shook his hand.

"Would you like to get started then? I tried reading through the history book, but it didn't make much sense, there was a large gap in the timeline that seems weird," He led Corvus to the desk. "Oh, sorry can I get you something to drink like tea or coffee maybe?"

"Coffees fine thanks."

Corvus set down the books and the scroll he was carrying on the desk and began to thumb through the history book Cas had mentioned. The book detailed the forming of the kingdom centuries ago and the battles they had fought to gain the allies they have today. Part of the book briefly mentioned the family tree of the royal family. As Corvus read he realized Cas was right, something was missing from the book that didn't make sense. The royal line made sense until the most recent family. The former king Mannal had a son and a daughter. The daughter was the oldest, but her family hadn't been recorded, just simply scratched out with the enemy of the crown written next to her name, Ezzah. That name stuck out to him, where had he heard that before? Quickly opening a portal to his room, he grabbed the book of Royal Bloodlines and began to thumb through it.

"Here you go, one coffee for you and one for me," Cass said and handed a mug to Corvus. "Everything ok?"

"Thanks. Yeah, this just doesn't make sense." He said gesturing to the page open in the history book. "Hell doesn't go by only having a son rule, just whoever was born first. It's strange though I've heard her name before, but I can't think of why. If she truly was an enemy of the crown, then we would have heard of her. That's all people like to do is gossip where I'm from."

"That does sound weird. What does the other book say?"

"Nothing really, it just says that she would have been in line for the throne- oh! That's weird."

"What?" Cas asked. Corvus looked at the history book and then at the royal bloodlines. "There's a gap between when the next heir should have been and when the son took over." He replied. "How long of a gap?"

"About," Corvus paused and counted. "About twenty-seven years." Cas looked at him in shock. "Are you sure it's been that long? I mean that's such a long time for a gap like that."

"I know but that's what it says. It doesn't look like anyone was in charge during that time." Corvus did the math again just to make sure.

"Wait, wait, Corvus how old are you?" Cas asked. "Twenty-three why?"

"Isn't it weird that this happened for the majority of your life, and you don't think it's weird that you can't think of what happened during that time?" Corvus paused, processing what he just said. That was weird, the king had only been in power for four years, but he couldn't remember a time that he wasn't king. He couldn't remember much of his life before then actually. Just being alone and eventually working in the summoning and communications department.

"I'm so confused right now. Now that you mention it, I don't remember a time that the king wasn't in charge. No one talks about it."
