We now reach a turning point of the war where even one of the Axis powers are knocked out of the war as the Allies begin to close in all sides and destroy the most powerful of them all.

As of the eastern front the Soviets continued to push the Germans back into Ukraine and Belarus and in the major battles to take cities and one in Particular was to take the city of Kursk a large Soviet garrison was in their trying to defend the city and the Soviets when making the offensive made a large bulge in the German lines and Hitler thinking of the opportunity decides to take the chance of doing a massive Blitzkrieg to dislodge over a million Soviet troops and weaken the Red army's line but when Hitler launched the attack they were able to get solid spear heads but the Soviets were to well fortified and the German forces could no longer pose an encircling attack on the Soviet union and the advance of the German army was halted and the assault failed meanwhile Hitler couldn't pose a threat to the USSR and had to make a fighting retreat against the Soviets red army. And finally after two cruel years of seige and starvation, the city of Leningrad was freed from the seige of Finland and Germany as they were forced to retreat back and hold their current positions.

After the heavy suffering defeats of North Africa in El l Amain they were forced to retreat across the Egyptian border back into Italian Libya and they suffered even more losses in both resources and men. Alarmingly the Americans and more British troops had landed in west occupied Africa of Vichy France and with little to no resistance the Americans forced the trapped German and Italian forces to retreat into Tunisia where they had a decisive battle and Allied victory caused the Axis to retreat off of Africa to the Island of Sicily an Italian territory. Then the Allies landed on Sicily and the Axis who were lacking troops to defend that position were forced also off the island of Sicily and by that time the Italian both Military and people had low morale and they began to revolt and protest against Mussolini's regime. And soon the Allies landed on the Italian mainland the people had enough they caught Mussolini in a prison and tried to sign an armastice to the Allies but when done Hitler invaded the north and declared a puppet state of the Northern Italian socialist republic.

However the Allies seeing the Soviets winning the war they began to decide that the post war time was worrying as if the Soviets took Berlin with no Western front then all of Europe would be doomed to Communism so they hatched a plan to liberate France by tricking the German troops into thinking they were going to land in Calais the Closest point to Britian across the English channel and they called this operation. Operation Overlord where they would send paratroopers to catch significant points and disrupt the defences on the Atlantic wall protection and Erwin Rommel had already toughened the defenses and supplied them correctly which gave Hitler a sigh of relief. Or so he thought...

And miraculously the British intelligence had cracked the German enigma code and it is believed it could of shortened the war by another 2 years saving potentially millions of lives in the process. As the Germans had a strong binary enigma code but it was broken down into basic components that could be read easily.

Meanwhile in Asia Japan had seen more victory against China as they encircled and captured more people and troops but by now the Japanese army in Burma was facing tough stalemate against the British, Indian and Chinese forces until they had no choice but to retreat back to Thailand who was forced to join to prevent being destroyed by the Japanese military. And they were kicked off of New Guinea as the Australian forces advanced forward better and stronger. And D. Eisenhower was planning a full scale liberation of all the Japanese occupied territories particularly the Philippines which was an overseas territory of the United states and also take the Japanese mainland with them aswell.

Also the Manhattan project was going very well despite their being a couple of setbacks trying to produce the bomb as complexity and confusion was occurring and Oppenheimer sorted it out and continued the process and finally was nearly complete with it.

Italy was now in a civil war between the anti fascist Italian government and a fascist and socialist Republican government which was a puppet of Hitler's regime and the city of Rome remained in Socialist hands but after a special operation involving British troops and paratroopers they took the city and were halted because of the winter weather that caused thick mud and heavy rain to stop the advance and held the front in a stalemate for now.
