In the dimly lit quarters of Copper-9, N and Uzi sat huddled together, surrounded by the soft hum of machinery. Amidst the excitement of planning their wedding, a shared realization hung in the air – they had never delved into the complete depths of their pasts. They talked about their past before, like N's abuse in the hand of J or Uzi being confused about her mom, but they hadn't covered everything with each other. With the anticipation of a new chapter in their lives, they decided to open up to each other, laying bare any concerns or lingering shadows.

N, with his usual upbeat demeanor, started the conversation. "Uzi, before we dive into this wedding madness, is there anything you want to talk about? Anything that's been on your mind?"

Uzi, her purple optic lights reflecting a mix of contemplation and sincerity, nodded. "Yeah, N. I think it's time we share more about our lives, the good and the bad. I mean, I don't have anything negative to say about you, but I want us to be completely open with each other."

N grinned, his optic lights flickering with curiosity. "That sounds like a plan! Lay it on me, Uzi. Nothing's off-limits."

Uzi took a deep breath, her metallic frame emanating a sense of vulnerability. "You know, N, meeting you was like the first good thing that happened to me in a long time. My life before this whole thing with you was pretty bleak. After my mom died, my dad, kinda disappeared. I had to fend for myself in those harsh corridors. It was tough, N, really tough."

N listened attentively, his usual exuberance replaced with a compassionate understanding. "Uzi, I had no idea it was that bad. I'm sorry you had to go through that. You're incredibly strong to have come out of it the way you did."

Uzi nodded, appreciating N's empathy. "It wasn't easy, but I survived. Then, there was Lizzy. She used to bully me relentlessly for years. It was like living with a constant storm of bitchiness. But, hey, we're good now. It's just a part of my past I haven't really opened up about with anyone. I never wanted to sound weak, but I actually feel better now that you know."

N, his metallic fingers tapping thoughtfully, responded, "Well, I'm glad we're talking about it now. Sounds like you've been through a lot, Uzi, but look at where you are now. You're planning a wedding for the coolest drone in Copper-9! You!"

Uzi chuckled, a hint of warmth in her optic lights. "Yeah, the coolest drone, I know I am. But, N, what about you? I want to know your entire story too. No matter how disturbing it gets."

N's optic lights flickered as he considered where to begin. "Before Copper-9, I lived in a mansion with Tessa. She was the nicest drone owner I knew, but it wasn't great all the time. Although, I get it wasn't really her fault, but she still subjected me to abuse, I had to serve her drone-hating parents. It wasn't a great time, Uzi. But meeting you here, in Copper-9, was enough to make it all almost worth it."

Uzi reached out, gently squeezing N's hand. "N, I had no idea you went through something like that. I'm sorry you had to endure such cruelty."

N shrugged, his usual smile returning. "Hey, we've both had our share of rough patches. But look at us now, planning a wedding and all. It's like we found a pocket of happiness in this maze of—" N quickly pulled out a book labeled "Poetic Phrases About Love" before coming up with what to say.

"In this maze of turmoil."

As they continued to share their pasts (and reading the Poetic Phrases book), N and Uzi discovered an unexpected parallel – meeting each other had been the first genuinely positive turn in their otherwise challenging lives. The realization struck a chord, deepening their connection.

Uzi, looking into N's optic lights, spoke softly, "N, meeting you was like finding a bright star in the darkest night. You've made my life better in ways I never imagined."
