The plan was set in motion under the cover of night. The air was thick with anticipation as V, Tessa, and Braiden prepared for their mission. Thad, Lizzy, and Sam took their positions as lookouts, each armed and ready to defend their comrades.

Braiden, fueled by his newfound determination (and his new not-so-subtle crush on J that he developed upon learning she was a female being), insisted on joining the rescue team. "I can help," he had declared, his voice tinged with uncharacteristic seriousness. "I'm really good at picking locks."

V and Tessa exchanged glances but eventually relented, realizing they could use all the help they could get.

The trio made their way through the dark, icy expanse towards the pod where J was being held. The wind howled around them, the biting cold a constant reminder of the harsh environment they were up against. V led the way, her optics scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger.

As they approached the pod, V motioned for them to stop. "We're close," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the wind. "Tessa, Braiden, follow my lead. We need to move quickly and quietly."

Inside the pod, the atmosphere was eerily silent. The only sound was the faint hum of machinery and the distant drip of melting ice. V crept forward, her sensors on high alert as she navigated the narrow corridors.

Braiden followed closely behind, his circuits buzzing with anticipation. His optics darted around, taking in every detail of their surroundings. He couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness at the thought of rescuing J.

Tessa brought up the rear, her movements precise and calculated. She kept a watchful eye on Braiden, ready to step in if things went south.

They reached the central chamber of the pod, where J was being held in a reinforced web of chains. Her optics were dim, and her circuits flickered weakly as she hung suspended against the wall, her body restrained by heavy chains.

V motioned for Braiden to move forward. "Braiden, get those chains off her," she instructed, her voice firm.

Braiden nodded and stepped up to the containment unit. He quickly set to work, his fingers deftly manipulating the locks and chains that held J captive. It wasn't long before the first chain fell away with a loud clank, echoing through the chamber.

J's optics flickered to life as she regained consciousness. She looked up, her expression a mix of confusion and anger. "What... who...?" she murmured, her voice weak.

"Relax, J. We're here to get you out," V said, her voice calm and reassuring. "But we need you to cooperate."

J's optics narrowed as she processed the situation. She didn't fully trust V and her team, but the promise of freedom was too tempting to resist. She nodded slowly, her circuits buzzing with a mix of hope and skepticism.

As Braiden worked on the final lock, a sudden noise outside the pod drew their attention. V's optics widened with alarm as she realized they were running out of time. "Hurry up, Braiden. We've got company."

Outside, Thad, Lizzy, and Sam were on high alert. They had taken up defensive positions, their weapons ready. The night was eerily quiet, the only sound the faint rustle of the wind through the trees.

Lizzy's optics scanned the darkness, her circuits buzzing with unease. "I don't like this," she muttered. "It's too quiet."

Thad nodded in agreement. "Stay sharp, everyone. We've got to give them enough time to get J out."

Sam's optics flickered as he noticed movement in the shadows. "Incoming," he whispered, his voice tense.

The group braced themselves as W emerged from the darkness, his optics gleaming with malicious intent. He moved with a predatory grace, his circuits humming with anticipation as he approached the lookouts.
