Summary: Brittany and Billy Hargrove move from California to Hawkins, Indiana. It is a huge adjustment for the both of them going from the beach to a rural farm town. At least they have each other! ;)
Brittany Hargrove is constantly told by her parents and family she is the golden child. It always enraged her because that title came with pressure. What pressure you may ask? To be perfect ALL THE TIME. To be the image of the Hargrove legacy and the worst of it all, Billy didn't help because he acted crazy.
Billy the problem child.
Her twin made the whole golden child thing 100 times worst. She constantly had to be on her best behavior or her parents would compare her to twin brother. Who didn't have the best reputation he was the bad one, the crazy one ...etc etc.
Billy was her shadow and Brittany was his shadow
Brittany just wanted to act out a little maybe smoke a cigarette? Go to a party? But no, she had to stay home and be little miss perfect while her twin Billy got to do what he wanted. It wasn't all great though, she hated when Billy got into trouble with their father, Neil.
Thats where it leaves her now, hanging out in her room with her headphones in listening to Call Me by Blondie to tune out Neil and Billy bickering with each other next door. Brittany looked up from her lap to her bedroom door to see Susan waving to her politely and she took off her headphones.
"Brittany honey dinner is ready"
Susan announced to Brittany with a soft smile then slowly closed the door. Brittany didn't mind Susan, she was a nice lady and she could tell Susan made her Father very happy. However, she knew her brother Billy hated her ha, more like despised her. Could not stand the woman any chance to insult her he took which caused fights, intense fights.
Brittany got off her bed, adjusting her pajamas shorts and, placing her hair into a top bun. She opened her bedroom door to see her twin standing outside of it, leaning up against the wall.
"They're going away to visit Susan's family this weekend" Billy stated with a hint of annoyance rolling his eyes. Brittany stood in the door way awkwardly staring at Billy, gasping as her brother went to put a cigarette in his mouth so she reached forward grabbing it and placing it in her trash bin that was in her bedroom near the door.
"Billy!" Brittany scolded walking back towards Billy in the hall, when she returned her brother was smirking at her. He's so annoying.
"Could you put some clothes on" Billy commented giving his twin sister a wild look before walking down the rest of the hall into the kitchen.
"WOW okay then" Brittany responded following behind Billy into the kitchen. She arrived at the kitchen table and sat down next to Neil, watching her twin carry the food Susan prepared to the table.
"Brittany? Did you have a good week at school?" Neil asked, reaching forward to grab fixings.
Brittany smiled at her father, she and her father had a decent relationship. She understood his need to move on after their mother died. Brittany always felt she was able to understand everyone and their difficult circumstances.
"Yes! I joined the cheerleading team I don't think I am any good but" She paused watching as Billy went to sit down at the dinner table, finishing up bringing over everything. They shared glances, they always knew what the other was thinking. Always.
"She is pretty good!" Billy perked up and stated while reaching over to grab food. Brittany locked eyes with her brother, feeling heat rush to her cheeks.
"Really? Oh yeah you play basketball so you see the team"
Billy snorted in response blinking at her.

Neil and Susan both exchanged glances before letting out a fake like laugh looking at each of the twins.
"See I knew you'd both find your way in Hawkins!" Susan exclaimed but then cleared her throat to gain everyone's full attention. "Me and your father are going away this weekend and Billy you're in charge"
Billy sent Brittany a glance wiggling his eyebrows. She laughed to herself, pushing around her peas on her dinner plate.
"No parties! No girls!" Neil firmly said looking only to Billy.
"Do you understand me son?"
Billy rolled his eyes sneering to himself and Brittany kicked his foot under the table giving him a warning look.
Say you understand
"I understand" Billy said flatly giving Neil a smug look.
"Good we leave tomorrow morning and there will be money left for you both" Neil glanced at Billy with a knowing look like he assumes he will spend it all.
"Both of you" he explained again.
Were going to throw a party
Brittany shot Billy a warning look from across the table again, as she got her telepathy message from her twin brother.
