Stephanie's POV
I shut the door after Beth just stormed out of my apartment and I turned around, wanting to scream as loud as I could. Maybe it should've been just coffee since this was too complicated. Seeing Beth again after a few months, made my feelings for her flourish even more she looked so good. beautiful.
But, she wasn't wrong I did hang out with someone else but it wasn't anything serious. She was an art student and we became friends through her joining the basketball team. Even though I was kissing her, my mind always thought about Beth.
I sighed walking away from the front door and into the kitchen, opening the refrigerator door to grab a soda. What would a mentally stable person do in this situation? I thought and sighed as my phone went off in my pocket. I grabbed it, flipping it open to see a text from Edna Munson.
Come to the hideout pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Okay that was way too many e's
okay as long as you promise to never text me like that again :P ..what time?
8:00 my band is playing and I invited a few others :)
no problem see ya later loser
:D
Laughing internally, Edna was a character but I was excited to see her band play because this day went to shit real fast.
Hours went by and the only thing I got done was rest, staring up at the ceiling and contemplating my life decisions specifically the one to text Beth yesterday to meet up for Coffee today. Why did you do it Steph? The only rational reason was that I still loved her.
Everything she does is just phenomenal.
Whenever I see her on campus walking around with her little posse I can't help but stare. She radiates confidence like she owns the place. That confidence is addictive I suppose, she wasn't afraid of no one well, except for her own family which made me sad.
"Whatever"
I roll off my bed and head to my closet to pick out an outfit for the concert. I sift through my hoards of clothing to find a black strap dress and a leather jacket. Then I head to my dresser to grab lace tights to wear underneath with my combat boots.
Once I am dressed I head to the bathroom to add minimum makeup and tease my hair a bit to give it some life. As I head out the door, I make sure my apartment is squared away before grabbing my wallet and leaving.
Upon arrival pulling into the parking lot, my stomach twists as I see a Familiar Blue Camaro up ahead. I mean, it couldn't be Beth maybe someone else owns a 1978 Blue Camaro. Once I park, I get out of my car and head into the venue. The bass of the other band playing is reverberated off the building and muffled. As I get closer, I can feel the bass from the music in the chest, and the sound is becoming less and less muffled.
When I get inside, I head over to the bar immediately grabbing a seat.
I look to see where the bartender is and look away quickly, shutting my eyes. Beth is here and she looks so good. I dare to look back over and when I do, I see a girl on her arm talking into her ear.
"fuck" I whisper under my breath as I look away and let out a shaky breath. I can feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight and for some reason I want to punch something.
"Stephanie is here whoop!" I hear a voice from behind me and I spin around to see Edna and her bandmates standing behind me.
"Hey!" I said awkwardly to Edna and her bandmates, brushing my hair behind my ear and I slid off the bar stool to hug Edna.
"You made it! I am so excited you're here" Edna said loudly into my hair, with a lot of her usual excitement.
I pulled away and smiled at her, earning a squeal from Edna. "Do you want me to get you a drink?" she asked.
"no no, you don't have to"
"It's on us the band gets free drinks" One of Edna's bandmates intercepts and the rest of the bandmates leave leaving me there with just Edna.
"well if it's free" I quipped, smirking at them and causing everyone to laugh. Edna brought me to the bar and instructed me to put my drinks under the Corroded Coffins tab.
"I have to go, Harrington, try and get front row so I can see that adorable face" Edna teased from beside me and pinched my bum as she walked away. The bartender came my way and I ordered my drink, placing it on the band's tab feeling very groupie right now laughing to myself.
The bartender came back, placing my drink down in front of me. I looked over as I could feel a presence next to me and gasped as Beth was leaning against the bar a couple of feet away from me with a beer bottle pressed to her lips.
"Fancy meeting you here," Beth said to me, wiggling her eyebrows and acting very casual.
"Yeah," I said flatly, taking a sip of my gin and soda.
"You look very pretty," Beth said as she took another swig of her beer.
Music was echoing all around us and it was tough to hear.
"What?" I asked as I could not understand a word she said.
Beth came closer to me and my breath hitched into my throat and my body tensed up. She leaned down into the crook of my neck.
"I said you look pretty"
"Thank you" I shouted.
Beth chuckled and downed her beer, placing it on the bar top next to me, and smiled dumbly at me.
"Let's go somewhere" She shouted looking down at me with a hint of playfulness in her eyes.
I looked from the stage to her and sighed, getting up off the stool to follow her. We walked outside and the music became muffled again as we walked further away as she led me into the parking lot towards her Camaro.
Fuck
"So why are you bringing me out here?" I asked walking beside Beth as we made our way to her car. Beth sneered and turned around, scaring the living daylight of out me and grabbing my wrist.
"I-I have to talk to you" Beth choked out and yanked me walking me towards her car and opening the backseat door motioning for me to get in. I climbed in, awkwardly trying to get myself comfortable, and sat there, as Beth piled in the backseat as well.
"What are you doing Beth? who is that girl in there? why are you going to leave her in there?" I started barking, shooting her multiple daggers.
"I knew you were going to be here tonight so that girl has a boyfriend she's from the basketball team" Beth admitted, looking shameful like a small child getting caught doing something they shouldn't be.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I raged, sitting up in the back seat.
"Steph!"
I erratically, crawled into Beth's lap straddling her and, grabbed her face with both of my hands looking into her crystal blue eyes.
"YOU'RE annoying do you know that?" I shouted earning an owl like expression from her underneath me.
"I wanted to tell you I am okay with you meeting Neil" Beth breathed out and the expression on her face came off as nervous.
"Are you serious?" I asked as I cupped her jaw with one hand and played with her curly blonde hair with the other.
"Yes" Beth said with a tiny smile.
"
