Ice skating

Several months passed,their love grew like flowers in spring, and they were happier than ever.

They were doing different things at home. Emperor watched TV, while Eging was in the kitchen making breakfast. The monarch stared at the wall for a few seconds, then looked back at the TV.

It's been a while since they last spent time together. He wanted to feel those unexplainable emotions again. He wanted to dive into that overflowing happiness. It was winter, so ice skating was more popular than ever. The red-eyed inkling loved ice skating, such a relaxing yet exciting way to do it.

Emperor stood up and said, "You know, since it's winter, we should go ice skating."

"Actually, it's not a bad idea, but I never tried that before." The shaven inkling put the plates on the table. "What if I fall?"

"Oh, come on!" Emperor smiled. "I can teach you how to do it; it's going to be fun!!"

Eging smiled. "Fine, but you better not let me fall!" They both chuckled.

Eging opened the window, letting the calming breeze embrace him. Emperor sat down to eat. Since he can't cook, Eging has to cook for him. The Emperor's food tastes like burnt cardboard with dirt, according to his sister.

"It's been a while since I went ice skating, but I must have my skates somewhere." The monarch wiggled the fork as he spoke. "You need specific shoes for that?!" "Come on, Eging, I thought you knew that." He stares at him, trying not to laugh.

"How was I supposed to know that?! I told you I never did that before." Eging exclaims, "Well, alright, enough of the talking; let's get ready."

The pair arrived at their destination, which was beautifully decorated with shiny lights and warm colors everywhere. Happiness and love crowded the place. There were families and lovers having a great time together.

"Oh right, I gotta get you ice skates; I'll be right back." The dark-skinned inkling sat on a bench, just admiring the beauty of the place, but as much as he admired it, it couldn't compare to the stunning look of the monarch. He was absolutely perfect in his eyes.

Emperor came back with a brand new pair of ice skates. "Well, put them on. Let's have some fun!!" The couple proceeded to put on their ice skates.

When they finally put them on, Emperor grabbed his hand. "I won't let you go, I promise." He said this with a smile, making the other blush uncontrollably. The second they entered the icey circle, Eging almost slipped, causing Emperor to chuckle. "Alright, let me teach you the basics. He started moving his legs in a zigzag-like way, holding his lover's hand tightly. Eging tried copying his moves, slipping almost on every try, but he was trying his best. "That's it!! You're getting the hang of it!!" The red-eyed inkling was said with excitement, which made the couple smile at each other.

Eging was amazed by the sparkle in his eyes, the cuteness of his smile, and his capturing look. God, he was handsome.
But did he really deserve someone like him? Was he even enough for him? Emperor is handsome, talented, and, of course, lovely. He's nothing like him. But Emperor loved him anyway; why?

"It's nice to spend time with you, you know?" This made Eging snap out of his thoughts. "Whenever I'm around you, I feel safe, I feel good, and I feel loved." Emperor looked at him, and thought about how charming he was. For him, Eging was the most divine man ever, even though Eging could only see his flaws.

The yellow-eyed inkling could see his reflection through the king's eyes. He was clearly enthralled by the look of his eyes, but he tried to play it cool. "That's cute, but you might want to look forward." Emperor slightly punched his shoulder. "I'm getting hungry. Wanna go grab a bite after this?" Eging suggested getting a nod from the monarch as an answer.

Between laughs and smiles, the lovers remained playing on the ice until dawn. As promised, they went to a local restaurant. Is there anything more peaceful than ice skating? Yes, their company. They were more than perfect in each other's eyes.
