Alain
I was utterly perplexed by Soojin; she had been acting bizarrely since yesterday. Today, she walked to school without me, and yesterday, she didn't accompany me home. If she didn't provide a proper explanation, I wouldn't let this slide.
At school, I spotted Soojin with her friends Alice and Anna, her cohorts in mischief.
Wait! What was Elisha up to? Oh God! Please don't tell me there's going to be a big commotion soon.
"You owe me something good because I didn't hit the ball on your head; it slipped out of my hand, and I just pushed it to make sure it doesn't hit you," Elisha said, smiling at Soojin, thinking her feeble excuse would work.
"Oh, sure. I do owe you something. I noticed your attempts to protect me. Wanna grab a drink from the canteen?" Soojin said, keeping her hands behind her back in a perfect Asian schoolgirl pose.
"Oh hey, Alain! Why are you standing there? Soojin is treating us to drinks. Come with us," Alice said, signaling for me to join them.
God knew what they had schemed, but I wasn't going to poke my nose into it now. I was very angry at Soojin. How dare she leave me alone and now offer us a drink?
"Let's grab strawberry milkshakes," Soojin enthusiastically said, picking up five bottles from the drinks crate and paying the canteen manager. She kept one for herself and distributed the rest.
When she handed me the bottle, she had a sly smile. I really didn't know what she was up to. No matter what transpired, if things went wrong, I had to rescue her.
"Thanks, Soojin. It's cheap, but I know you can't afford more. Okay, I'll try to satisfy myself with this," Elisha said, looking disdainfully at the bottle.
She was the one degrading her own status by saying such rubbish.
The bell rang for our first class.
After 45 minutes, it concluded, and I saw Soojin approaching me. I decided to ignore her and started leaving the classroom when I heard her calling me.
"Stop, Alain. We need to talk," Soojin said, folding her arms across her chest.
"What is there to talk about, Soojin? You abandoned me," I said, looking straight into her doe eyes.
"Alain, please. Let's talk on the grounds," she insisted, and I followed her. I couldn't ignore her. We had known each other for a decade now.
"I am determined to teach Elisha a lesson, and you can't stop me this time, Alain. If I don't stop her, she will start bullying others," Soojin said, looking at me with fiery eyes. I could see the burning desire for revenge.
"Why can't you let things slide? What if you get into trouble?" I said, crossing my arms against my chest. "Tell me what you did to her."
"It's gonna be fun, babe. Just wait and watch; you'll find out my plan after lunch," Soojin said and sprinted to her next class.
It was the first class after lunch. Let's see what Soojin had concocted.
"Where is Elisha? Is she bunking again?" the teacher asked her friends angrily.
"We don't know, miss. She was drinking a strawberry milkshake, and then she left us. We don't know where she went," Amy replied with a shaky voice.
"Yo, ladies and gentlemen, I'm here. The most popular and hottest girl in the school - Elisha Frost. Hope you all are doing well. Oh! Who's this? It's Miss Elizabeth, guys. She thinks everyone is terrified of her in the school, but in reality, not a single newcomer mouse is scared of her. Give me a hug, baby," Elisha said, staggering into the classroom.
She looked utterly drunk. She wasn't walking properly either. Some were shocked, and some were laughing. I was baffled. Elisha couldn't have been drinking during school hours. It was implausible. I saw a slight smirk on Soojin's face, and I realized that she must have done something. But she would get accused easily after Elisha recovered.
I was exasperated with Soojin. How could she devise such reckless schemes? I thought I couldn't save her this time. Oh God, Soojin! What did you do?
"You mischievous brat! Leave me!" Miss Elizabeth got out of Elisha's arms, which were wrapped around her waist. "And what did you say about me? The students of this school aren't scared of me, okay - but today I'm going to do something that will make everyone afraid of me. I am going to call your parents today, Miss Frost," Miss Elizabeth told her and dragged her out of the class.
A peculiar smell wafted from the corridor. I was certain it was the aftermath of Elisha's alcohol consumption. But wait, I needed to get a detailed account of these incidents from Soojin. I had to save her.
"Soojin! What did you do?" I asked her in a very exasperated voice.
"Let's meet after school while walking home, Alain. Anyone might overhear us," she winked at me, and immediately the teacher of the next class entered.
"Hey! Wait for me." I ran to catch Soojin, who had already left and was walking home.
"Oh, you're here. Now, let me tell you everything. Do you remember the milkshake that I gave you today? I gave everyone the same, but for Elisha, it was different. It was handmade; I prepared it for her. As you know, a bully would always return to see the condition of the victim, so eventually, Elisha was no different, and she came. She made things easy for me by saying that I had to buy her a drink. The strawberry milkshake was made by me yesterday. I mixed a Korean alcohol called soju. It was a bit special; it had a 45% alcohol content. Then I mixed it with a strawberry milkshake," she elucidated.
"But we all drank it, so did you swap her milkshake?" I questioned her, scratching the back of my head.
"About that - today I came to school earlier and secretly snuck into the canteen. I swapped one bottle of strawberry milkshake. I knew that no one would buy anything from the canteen in the early hours; it's quite rare since the breakfast there isn't good. After that, you know the rest," she laughed and parted from me.
She was unbelievable.

Did you all liked Soojin's plan and the aftermaths? 😆
Well, it was a fun as well as a bit long chapter for me to write.
