Soojin

Our 5 day trip to Paris was marvelous. I couldn't ask to go there again for the sake of Alex's money. But he had money plants in his gardens and cheered jollily when I said that I enjoyed the trip with him.

At Work:

"Miss Min, please hand over the Eco-space project files to the executives for further collaboration with other companies," my colleague requested, passing me the documents.

I skimmed through them once before heading to the Executive's cabin.

"Oh my princess, wait for me," Alex playfully interrupted, using his muscular arms to stop the lift door.

I chuckled at his antics. "Don't you have any work?" I asked curiously. He often seemed to roam around the office rather than work.

"Baby, perhaps you've forgotten that I am the HOD; everything is under my control. My tasks mostly involve rectifying their mistakes and tackling rare online cases which come once in a blue moon," he smirked confidently as he joined me in the elevator.

I pressed the button to go to the designated floor when he took the research papers from my hand."Hey! Give it to me," I tiptoed on my feet but it was of no use. He was taller than me. I scrunched my nose and he poked it.

"Let me take a peek first. Let's see how our company's researchers are faring," he winked, leaning against the elevator wall and delving into the documents.

As the elevator doors opened, he returned the file to me, and I proceeded into the Executive's office.

A couple of minutes later, as I exited, Alex was waiting outside for me. Internally, I smiled, realizing that, apart from Sooah, Alain, and my parents, no one else had ever waited for me.

"You didn't have to wait," I said, crossing my arms.

With his strong demeanor, he approached and embraced me in a hug. I caught a whiff of his fresh cologne, and the touch of his leather jacket sent chilling sensations down my spine, a reminder of what this man could do.

"Alex, not here," I gently said and he hummed a brief apology.

At Home:

"Are you gonna be late tonight ?" Sooah asked as she noticed me leaving the house in a midi-dress.

"Depends. You go to bed early and don't wait up," I replied with a smile before heading out.

At Alex's Residence:

I waited for quite a while at Alex's place. I wondered what was keeping him so occupied in the kitchen. His maids had instructed me to wait in the living room.

"Sorry for the delay," he apologized and I glanced at his direction.

He wore an apron dusted with flour and sauce stains adorned his forehead. I couldn't help but laugh at his appearance.

"Oh dear, don't ruin your handsome face like this," I teased, covering my mouth with my hand.

"Anything for you, darling. I'll be back in ten minutes," he winked before heading upstairs.

I abandoned my seat and began exploring his expansive living room. It was grand, furnished with sturdy sal wood pieces, a dazzling chandelier overhead. There was a mini theater and bookshelves stocked with literature.

The walls were painted in a soft pink hue, with one adorned by a stunning scenery of the Andes.

"Oh, you're back," I grinned upon his return and hugged him.

"I was admiring my future wife who was busy admiring her house," he smirked, causing me to blush at his mention of 'future wife.'

We sat down at the dining table, where I was surprised to find authentic Korean dishes prepared by him. Having grown up with such cuisine, I had missed it dearly during the four years since my last visit to Korea. Nowadays, we often settle for American food due to our busy schedules.

"Did you make all of this yourself?" I inquired curiously.

"Yeah, but I'm not sure if they turned out well," he admitted, scratching the back of his neck.

I grabbed a kimbap and took a bite. "You're amazing, Alex Anderson. They're delicious. I bet you could outdo Sooah in making kimbap."

"I love the way you say 'kimbap,'" he grinned.

"Sooah pronounces it better," I teased back, and he chuckled.

Throughout dinner, we exchanged gossip, and for drinks, he prepared a bottle of soju. It felt like dining in a Korean restaurant.

"Cheers!" he exclaimed, clinking glasses with me, and I laughed.

At Home:

I arrived home around eleven o'clock, finding my sister already fast asleep. Alex had dropped me off and even given me a goodnight kiss.

I collapsed onto my bed, resting my chin on the pillow, reminiscing about our beautiful moments. My gaze fell upon Alain's diary, resting on the nightstand. Sitting up straight, I picked it up and began reading another page.

Dear Diary,

My midterm results came out today, and as expected, Luisa topped the class. I stood second, and Soojin ranked fifth. Luisa proposed to me today, but I turned her down. I'm telling this only to you; I don't have the courage to share it with anyone else. Even though she's the school's heartthrob, admired by all the boys, something in my heart told me to decline. I couldn't quite understand why, but it felt like the right decision for me. I don't want to start dating so early, despite my parents starting in middle school. I suppose these changes in me are influenced by a certain 'Asian,' and I'm content with that.

Mom made my favorite butter pancakes today. I called Dad to tell him about my results, and he was overjoyed. But now, I must strive to surpass Luisa in the finals.

Soojin didn't join us to play today. It's one of her dramas after exam results - ah, God! Tomorrow, I'll have to console her... maybe I can gift her a tomato plant, as she resembles one when she cries.

From your faithful owner,

Alain Abreo.
