Lady Daylight and Darkness

Chapter Seventeen

"Do you really want to go back?" He asked "No,but he knows where I am we have to go"I replied "Let's go to my home then"He said "Your home?"I questioned "The kingdom of glitches"He replied. "He won't find you there"He said "I'll protect you"He added. I looked him in the eyes and said "We'll protect each other"I said he smiled nodding his head.

We left the house and walked around the old forest as we got to the water cave. "Below through the cave is where it is"He said "we have to swim through"He added, not wanting to swim or even go through the that again "You sure?"I asked, "Yes, it's the only entrance."He whispered. He jumped into the cave and he came up to the surface helping me into the water, cold water almost like ice it's what it felt like. We both went underwater. He grabbed my hand leading through the water making sure not to let go. He used his powers lighting the way as the current was heavy pushing us back but we kept swimming through the thick heavy water as we swam. I saw shadow-like monsters that gave me a warm smile. We reached the surface. I gasped for air as I looked around, seeing we were in a lake as we swam to land and we were back in a forest. "Where are we?"I asked, shaking "The forest that I got my scars from."He replied "Just stay close"He said.

We walked down the forest. I could hear children running and laughing and parents yelling at them to be quiet. "It's very peaceful here"He said "If you chose after everything is over we could stay here permanently"He added looking at me smiling. We continued down and out of the forest more of the shadow monsters appeared smiling at me as we got to the gate we halted. "Who goes there?" A voice said "Dawn and sun"He replied "Dawn as the son of the highlord and lady?"The voice asked "And sun as the daughter of Ezra and Calista thornblood?"It added. "Yes"He answered, then the gate opened up. You can see the thrones from the gate as we headed into the town. Children stayed away from the sidewalk and stayed in the grass areas and gave a bow,adults and children both did, some of their soldiers kneeled and he squeezed my hand as we made it to where the thrones were. "Dawn"His mother said, smiling and running from her throne hugging her son "How much we've missed you"She added, as she pulled away from him. His father came over to meet him face to face shaking his hand "Welcome home son"He said pulling away from the handshake.

"You brought sunflower back with you"she said looking over at me "She's my mate"He told them. "Before we get into more conversation let's get the both of you in and dry clothes on"His father said.

As we entered the castle both of us headed up to his old room where fresh and dry clothes were waiting for us. As we got dressed into appropriate clothing I wore a yellow silky dress with a necklace with a sun pendant. He had a necklace with a wing pendant on and his clothing was a dark red. As we headed down we saw them waiting on us in the dining room as we sat down.

"Well,sun, welcome to the family."His mother told me, "Have you accepted the mating bond?"she asked "Yes"I said softly "Amazing! But what brings you here?"She asked "Atlas,"Dawn said. The look of horror on their faces said it all. "He's at his games again"His father growled "Unfortunately,and this time he's chosen her as his puppet"dawn said.

"That's why she didn't stay last time he erased her memory of this place and me"He explained "So she has no memory of anything here?"His mother asked "She's slowly getting her memory back"He explained "What do you mean again, about his games?"I asked his father. A blank stare at me "You don't know do you?"He asked me "No"I said softly

"Every thousand years his mother would take her pick on who she wants her son to have trying to find his mate and every year it fails after her death it has stopped until you"He told me. "What happened to the others?"I asked "They didn't survive his torture thats why you didn't come to live in your realm until you were older"He explained. "Has he ever gone to war over one person?"I asked "No,they usually die before things get too complicated"He answered. "How are you alive after everything you've been through?"His parents asked me.

I looked over at dawn then back at his parents he nodded his head slowly. Showing them my darkness, my guard I put up my eyes produces darkness turning black outlining the scars on my face "how much land can you cover with your darkness"His father asked "Im not for sure I haven't tested it"I replied then my darkness vanished.

"Are you still wanting to be highlord?"His mother asked him. He looked over at him and said "I want to calm her as mine before anything" "Then we will get a two and one and a wedding and a crowing"His father said looking at us. "But for now let's eat and rest"His mother said, bringing out food. "Then we plan tomorrow,"His father added.

That night was the worst one yet.

"Oh sun come out wherever you are"He screamed I was hiding with dawn we were running far far away "I can't leave your parents"I said to him "Don't worry sunflower we will protect our court and you"His mother said to me "Now go"She added. We ran far away but Atlas was faster but dawn picked me up carrying me on his shoulder then we were in the air. Flying we were flying. I looked and saw his wings but I also saw atlas hurting him. "Let me go with him"I said to dawn "So he'll stop hurting you and everyone I love" I said to dawn. He looked at me then dropped me into the water and atlas dove after me. But I swam faster and faster through the cave and when I reached land I was using my darkness to protect myself from him but also I was using any powers I knew to stay away from him and as we fought he tried to get close to me but I wouldn't let him and ended up knocking him to the grown and running far away from him and everyone else I built my own court and locked my happiness away for good.

"Sunflower"he said, I woke up seeing dawn on top of me. "Dawn"I whispered as he laid his head on the pillow I was using. "You're okay"He whispered as he wrapped his arms around my body "What happened?"I asked "You stopped breathing"He said. My eyes opened wide. I wrapped my arms around his head, messing with long white and blue hair.

That morning we came downstairs and saw them waiting for us to start planning.
