{a/n: WOOOO ADULT REDDIE. 🤍}

————

when richie got the call his stomach sunk. he never thought he would've gotten that call ever, mike hanlon? from derry? his friend from when they were teenagers?! he thought it was a sick joke at first, but mike sounded dead serious. then it all came flooding back to him like the reoccurring waves in a hurricane. the summer of 1989.

the worst, but best summer of his life. and then he remembered him. Eddie Kasprack. the boy he was in love with. oh fuck. he had to go outside to take a breather, he couldn't keep the contents of his stomach down. it felt like everything was slowly coming back to him.

the oh so pretty brunette boy with brown eyes that when hit with the sunlight, would shine brighter than the stars in the sky. even during the clearest of nights. everything about that boy was absolutely, undeniably perfect in richie's eyes.

if he were to go back to derry, would he see him..? would he be there? did mike make sure to call him too? what if he wasn't going to be there.. then what? richie didn't want to go unless he knew eddie was going to be there too. but there was no way richie could confirm, or deny whether or not he would or not.

richie took a deep breath, throwing the last few items into his bag. this is such a bad idea. but he had to go, who knows if he'd ever get the chance to see eddie again.

his thoughts were racing, along with his heart. he's never been more nervous in his life, not even before he was about to go on stage. he's never felt like this.

even though richie hadn't spoken to eddie in over fifteen years, as soon as he remembered him. it was as if his feelings never went away, they were still so strong. the only memories richie could seem to remember from derry had involved eddie.

his mind swarmed with thoughts of the boy, wondering what he was like now? what'd he look like? richie didn't have a doubt in his mind that he probably still looked as cute and handsome as ever.

richie had been so lost in his thoughts, that he didn't even notice that he had arrived in derry. well, no turning back now. he checked into the hotel that he knew he was going to be staying at. it was small, but had a nice interior.

richie walked up to his room. he unlocked the door and looked around, he couldn't help but notice a second bed off to the other side of the small, yet spacious area. i didn't know i'd be sharing a room with somebody. though he didn't seem to mind too much, knowing that probably the only people checked into that hotel were his old best friends.

whoever richie was sharing a room with had three bags with them. it made richie feel pathetic, standing there with his one bag that wasn't even full. well someone's over prepared. then something hit him, as if he was struck by lightning. he only knew one person like that. eddie. holy shit, oh fuck. am i sharing a room with him?!

he took a deep breath and tried not to think too deeply about it. he didn't want his thoughts to be occupied with that right now. for fucks sake he's going to go see his childhood best friends!! that's exciting, right?

he set his pathetic bag down on his bed and turned to leave the room. not before glancing at the other bed and smiling slightly.
