The day after the first trial..
Ariel's pov:
The sharp air, dim light and cold concrete are my closest companions in this isolated prison. The Northmiddlestern dungeon originally built to hold Lucifer and his followers, has now become my home. God, foreseeing another rebellion left it standing.
Yesterday ended with a cliffhanger after I presented them with a shocking discrepancy in the population records. MUSWOA recorded a drastic drop from 23.4 to 9.8 in less than a year.
The Book of the living confirmed it.
Baffled and perturbed, the court adjourned to investigate further. I, however, remained silent, knowing the truth they were yet to uncover.
Footsteps echo down the corridor, and the metal door creaks open, revealing the face of the one I thought I would never see again.
She sat by my side and the silence held on for a minute.
"Why are you here?" I ask, sighing.
Is that the first thing you say to a sibling you haven't seen in 87 years."
The soft tone belonged to my sister, Arielle.I turned to her, my heart aching with a mix of joy and sorrow. Tears threaten to spill as I faced her.
"Arielle," I whispered, my voice breaking.
She reached out, touching the evident scar on my back.
"Does it hurt?" She asked gently.
"Nothing does." I deadpanned. The pain of loss and suffering as long numbed me.
Arielle quiet sobs fill the cell, and I sat up, wiping her tears. "Hey, are you here to make me feel more guilty? Is this how you react after me in such a long time?"
She pulls me into a hug, a gesture I desperately needed. "How did you get in? this place is heavily guarded."
"I'm a princess of the entire multiverse. I can go where the hell I want." She shot, pinching my cheek.
Arielle hesitates to ask the question I've been dreading. " Why did you kill so many titans? You nearly ended an entire race."
I shift uncomfortably on the hard slab, and whispered into my knees,
"I had no choice."************************************
Almost a century ago.
The former deputy commander and ex-general overseer of all guardians in Oselis barges into the royal courtesans' quarters at Midhiok.
Oselis, the planet of the Elves, holds a grand feast every century for the nine gems, allowing them and their flock of angels a once-in-a-century meeting.
Archangel Michael and the Crown Prince of the Heavens, Emmanuel, lead God's Army, while the last born, Ariel, leads the Guardians. The remaining gems each rule over a smaller number of angels.
Dominion, bestowed upon them by their father, is their greatest power.
Midhiok, where all royal courtiers reside in the Oselis palace is abuzz with activity.
"EVA!"
A middle-aged female elf, the brothel owner, hurries to the drunk angel's side and bows.
"Where is Eva? Call her for me"
The elf hesitates.
"Didn't you hear me. I said fetch Eva I want to speak with her."
"My Lord it is not proper for a guardian to be seen with a courtesan, let alone in the brothel."
