–Damien–
Once the captain opened the doors he stepped out and headed for the cockpit to deal with navigating the ship to our next location, leaving me and Aris alone in the room.
Silence filled the air between us as he left and I felt myself relax. I was not prepared to deal with this today…knowing that there is another of my kind definitely changes things I'm unsure if it is For better or for worse because now the humans know of our existence meaning they will begin to grow weary.
Having an ally on this ship could be beneficial as long as we keep things quiet. Which hasn't exactly worked Out so far. I need to figure out who the other is and strategize with them but at the moment I had about as much knowledge as the humans.
the woman wearing the brown suit was covered in blood And she did find the body but would they be so foolish as to risk exposing themselves like that? I hadn't gotten close enough to them to see if she was like me but that was a better starting point than any other.
On top of all of that, soon things will be picking up on the ship. With the captain handing out assignments to everyone I'll have to be careful not to get caught doing something I shouldn't. Then again, learning the ship's systems and the crew's schedules may give me another advantage while hunting for My meals.
“Um… Damien was it?” A soft voice pulled me out of my musing and I turned my head to meet those familiar purple irises That put me in a trance the first time I witnessed them. How could I forget about her?
I still couldn't understand my hesitation, why I didn't just spear her through the skull Or allow that other human to shoot her. But if there was one thing I was sure about it was that those eyes were dangerous.
“I wanted to thank you for earlier… you saved my life.”
I quickly pulled my gaze away from her to avoid being put in another trance. “Don't mention it.” I spoke up.
Although my voice was still rough, observing The humans the past few Days and practicing has helped improve my ability to speak.
“I have to return To the medbay, I think that woman who found the body is over there Getting checked up. If you would like we could go there together? you could ask a few questions while you're there.” I pondered the idea before nodding in agreement.
She smiled and we both left the administration room together. Glancing over towards the storage we both saw the captain's Assistant, Dax and two others taking care of and cleaning up the body.
Aris’s face Fell at the sight as he hugged her own body and looked away. IT was interesting seeing her reaction towards a fellow dead human. She was timid like a small animal, that notion made my mouth water. What I wouldn't do for a taste…
Shaking my head I quickly snapped out of it. The scent of blood in the air was twisting my mind, I needed to get away from the body before I did something I'd regret.
Stepping beside her I placed My hand on her back and guided her in the opposite direction to get as far from the body as possible.
As we walked, Aris Cleared her throat to speak up once more and ward off the silence. “I'll probably be stuck in the medbay for a few days while my injuries heal so we can whenever You'd like. Reid And Jacob will be Around as well so you don't have to worry about babysitting me while I'm there. I'm sure the captain Will also give you some work as well.”
Curiosity got the better of me as I thought about the relations between her and the medics. The man in the darker red suit seemed to be close to her and quite protective. were they mates perhaps? “Are they your friends?” I asked.
