chapter 4: 𝙱𝚞𝚜𝚊𝚗 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚊𝚕

Taehyung was diligently working on his math homework when his mom called him downstairs for tea.

" Aigoo ,Taehyungie is really hardworking for his exams," his mom remarked as she offered him a cookie, which he accepted with a smile. As Taehyung observed his parents, it seemed like they wanted to tell him something.

"Mom, Dad, do you guys have anything to say to me?" Taehyung inquired.

"Actually, the thing is-" Before his mom could continue, his dad interjected.

"Taehyung, your grandfather came today," his dad revealed, causing Taehyung's eyes to widen. "Then why didn't you guys tell him to wait for me?" Taehyung exclaimed in a cute voice. "He was in a hurry. He came here to discuss an important matter with me," his dad explained.

"Important matter?" Taehyung asked, to which his mom nodded. "Yeah, Dad came up with a proposal for you," Mr. Kim announced, causing Taehyung's eyes to widen even further.

"Taehyung, you know it's been two months since you turned 18. Even though your mom and I received a lot of proposals for you after you turned 18, we rejected them all because we didn't feel they were suitable for you. But-" his mom began to explain.

"But I don't want to drop out of school soon," Taehyung interrupted, speaking softly and looking down.

His mind flashed back to Jennie's words about Ji-hoon dropping out of school after his marriage. Taehyung didn't want to end up like that. "Baby, you're not going to drop out of school after your marriage," his mom reassured him, prompting Taehyung to look up at his parents.

"Taehyung, you've misunderstood. Let me explain. Today, your grandpa will come with a proposal from his best friend's grandson," his dad clarified.

"Last week, Grandpa's friend from Busan visited him. After seeing one of your pictures on the wall, Grandpa's friend liked you and requested a proposal for his grandson. Your grandpa agreed because they've been best friends for years," his dad elaborated. Taehyung nodded, understanding the situation.

"We're also going to visit Grandpa this Sunday, where the family from Busan will also be coming to see you," Mrs. Kim added a smile, while Taehyung remained lost in thought.

At school

"A marriage proposal from Busan!" Jennie and Jimin exclaimed, causing Taehyung to shush them, as he had shared yesterday's conversation with his parents with them.

"I can't believe you're getting married," Jimin remarked, looking at Taehyung.

"Me too. Well, do you know anything about the grandson? Did you get to see his picture?" Jennie asked, curious.

"Nope, we're going to meet him this upcoming Sunday," Taehyung replied.

"What if you don't like him?" Jennie inquired.

"I don't know. I think this proposal is going to turn into a marriage because it's my grandpa who came up with it," Taehyung explained.

"What about your studies?" Jimin asked.

"I'll continue my studies after the marriage," Taehyung answered, and they fell into silence after digesting the news of Taehyung's marriage proposal.

"Hey, Kim Taehyung, Mr. Jeon is looking for you," the class leader suddenly came to inform him. "He told you to come to the staff room," the boy added before leaving.

"I'm done. I don't want to see that Dracula face in the morning," Taehyung lamented in a fake crying voice. "This Dracula is going to drink your blood, Taehyung," Jimin teased, looking at Taehyung.
