"YOU'RE SUCH A CREEP, get away from the window!"

Valentina ignored her brunette friend, continuing to wait for Nancy and her friend, Barb, to arrive before they made their way over.

Carol was already there, picked up by Tommy less than an hour ago, but Valentina did not want to spend anymore time with Steve Harrington than she had to.

She'd wait for Nancy to show up then walk across the street with Tina about five minutes later. Fashionably late, as she called it.

"Ugh, this shirt makes my waist look huge. Can I borrow something?"

The blonde hummed, barely acknowledging her friend who began rummaging through her closet. Valentina was wearing the same outfit she wore to school; black converse, dark jeans, and a solid black long-sleeve. Only this time she ditched the vest.

Her mother would not be home until late—around three in the morning as she estimated over the phone—so there was no need to let her know that she would be out of the house.

Part of that was because she didn't want her to be checking up on her, but most of it was because she didn't want her mother to ever know that she was going to Steve's house.

It was no secret that Alicia longed for the two to become friends again—believing in some sort of 'soulmates-bullshit' that the two were tied together—but neither of the teens wanted any part in that.

They were not friends anymore, and they were never going to be. Making an appearance at his house tonight did not change that, it was simply an inconvenience.

"What's this?" Tina asked, not earning a response from her friend until the sound of papers and cardboard boxes being moved around bombarded her ears.

"Don't open that!" Valentina yelled, moving away from the window for the first time in twenty minutes to push her friend away from the shoebox containing her childhood.

The white, slightly torn box contained pictures and figurines relating to all sorts of astronomy; astronauts, aliens, and planets among them. But buried beneath all that were photos of her and the boy across the street.

"Jeez, relax. What do you have in there, a dildo?" Tina laughed, not sensing the pure panic written across the blonde's face. She forced a chuckle out but it came out rather dry as she scrambled to pick up the shoebox and shove it deep within her closet, hopefully never to see the light of day again.

"Yeah, you know me. Got a secret stash of 'em right in there," she joked, sarcasm evident in her tone.

Tina went to reply, but a bright glow casted across her face before the words could leave her tinted lips, causing Valentina to break away from where they stood by the closet and jump back to the window.
