THE NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL, Valentina had a pounding headache disrupting her morning. The only thing keeping her from going to the nurse and heading straight home was Astronomy class, but once that was over she was out of there.

Head resting on her fist, the blonde almost fell out of her seat at the sound of the bell. Stunned by the rush of students clamoring to get out of the classroom, she scrambled to pick up her books and follow them to the hall, not even bothering to stuff them into her messenger bag and opting to carry them by hand.

A few beers and one vodka-coke usually wasn't enough to have the girl this hungover, which is what made her raging headache so confusing to her, which only added to the pain.

She returned home only a couple minutes after she had come out to sit by the pool. Barb came out a few minutes after her, telling the girl she didn't need to stay up for her and that she was going to wait for Nancy.

Valentina thanked the girl and briskly made her way to her own home, slamming down into the bed and turning away from the window that held a clear view into Steve Harrington's bedroom where him and Nancy happened to be.

Making her way to the nurse, she passed a head of bright orange hair who was talking to her boyfriend as of last night. Carol called Valentina early in the morning to let her know that Tommy officially asked her out right after they finished, followed by some explicit and unsolicited details that the blonde hung up on her for.

"Hey, loverrrs," she called, gathering the attention of the fresh couple as she stepped to walk in tow with them.

Tommy grinned, smirking down at his girlfriend while she squealed, raising her shoulders and swinging their conjoined hands at an even faster rate than they were walking.

"Ugh, you're so cute. I'm gonna throw up," Valentina said, mustering up a fake gag and a cough. Carol pushed her shoulder, accidentally knocking her into some students passing by. The blonde turned around to apologize but they had barely noticed, so she kept her path going straight and continued to walk with her friends.

"Aww, someone's jealous they had to go home alone," Carol jeered, poking more fun at the girl.

"Oh, please. Who was I going to get with, Tina?" she joked, causing both girls to laugh.

"Damn, save me a seat."

"Don't be a perv, Tommy," Valentina spoke quickly, tone filled with judgement despite the joking smile on her face. Carol copied her look and gave it to her boyfriend, though she opted to stay silent.

"Where is Tina, anyway?" Carol asked. Valentina turned her head, not realizing that their friend hadn't been at school already. They usually didn't see each other before lunch, anyway.

"She's not here?"

"Haven't seen her," Carol answered, shrugging and turning back to her boyfriend who started saying something again.
