Chapter 29

 "Oh my god! Jer, Jer! No, no, no! ROSALIE!" I heard Elena yelling from downstairs and I rolled over in my bed groaning when I looked at the clock realising it was 2am.

"ROSALIE!" Elena yelled again and I galloped out of bed. Running down the stairs I saw Elena holding Jeremy's face. I listened hard, he had no pulse. "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?" I cried as I ran towards him.

"I cant believe this happened." Elena cried as Damon walked in. "What am I going to say to him?" Elena cried as she paced back and forth. Elena had woken up in the early hours of this morning and stabbed him in the neck with a knife. As unrealistic as that sounds, its true, she did it. She claimed she thought it was Connor. "Thanks for not ditching the family ring after it drove Ric crazy?" Damon suggested and I rolled my eyes, this was no time for snarky little comments. "You should've called Stefan." Damon said realising that his brother would do a lot better in this situation. "I don't want to talk to him." Elena spoke flustered. "You guys need to get over it. He was trying to help Elena stop being such a bitch!" I spoke annoyed as I stared at my brother, waiting for him to awake from, i guess you could call it, a slumber. "Im the bitch? He's been lying to me, hiding things from me, he compelled Jeremy to forget god knows what!" Elena exclaimed, "Well did you ever think he was trying to help you, Elena? I mean thats what Stefan usually does, right? He's always there to help you, and wheres your god damn thanks, huh?" I asked her as I ran a hand through my hair. "In all fairness, i agree with Rose. I think you killing him kind of trumps that." I smirked and Elena looked at Damon sighing. "I mean, you should have called Stefan." I pulled out my phone and scrolled through the messages I had with Damon last night. 

Rose - She killed him?! 

 Damon - yeah, and Stefan told me about the whole situation, there might be a cure...

 Rose - Klaus is coming back tomorrow, he's going to kill me, have you any idea where Rebekah is? She's been MIA and I really need to speak with her. 

 Damon - No assumed she was with Klaus.  

I was standing in the kitchen with Stefan and Damon. Jeremy had woken up and had gone to school and Elena was in the shower. 

"Where did Jermey go?" Damon asked. "School. Bonnie has him volunteering for some occult exhibit thing." I mumbled as I bit into an apple. "Or maybe he didn't want to linger in a house where his sister just jammed a knife in his neck." I groaned, "I don't understand, how is one even capable of-" I was cut off by Stefan's phone ringing. "Its Klaus." I bit my lip anxiously. "Ooh time to face the music. Pay the piper, dance with the devil." Damon sung as he grabbed my apple off of me, taking a bite. I looked at him annoyed, "Yeah, dont worry, just take my apple, its not like I wanted it anyway." I spoke sarcastically and Damon gave me a wink. "You know, I'm glad you find this amusing. If he finds out I told you about the cure he'll kill both of us." I rolled my eyes, "Don't be so pathetic boys, Klaus wont be killing you." I said softly as Stefan's phone began to ring again. "Quit avoiding him, you're being shady. Shady people get outed." Damon said to his brother has he finished off the apple and threw it away.  

"I don't want to talk about it." Stefan said pressing the phone to his ear and I began to listen in. "Well, i cant imagine why, what with you ruining all my plans for a hybrid-filled future." Klaus said. "Well, it wouldn't of happened if you had sworn me to secrecy." Stefan said trying to push the blame onto Klaus. "Life's full of ifs Stefan. Lets extenuate the positives, shall we? The hunter was one of five. We'll find another. It may take centuries but we've got nothing but time right?" Klaus said rather cheerfully. "You're using your calm voice today. Who's getting killed?" Stefan deadpanned and his looked between Damon and I. "Not you, if thats what you're worried about. But I am concerned about your beloved. Have the hallucination started yet?" Klaus asked and all our eyes widened. "What do you know about that?" And thats where it hit me, Klaus had told me this story before. When he killed the five original hunters, he was haunted. "Ill tell you. Where are you?" Klaus asked. "Im at her house." Stefan said and I nibbled on my bottom lip.
