Make Me Lose Control

Surgeons are control freaks. With a scalpel in your hand, you feel unstoppable. There's no fear, there's no pain. You're ten-feet tall and bulletproof. And then you leave the OR. And all that perfection, all that beautiful control, just falls to crap. No one likes to lose control, but as a surgeon there's nothing worse. It's a sign of weakness, of not being up to the task. And still there are times when it just gets away from you. When the world stops spinning and you realize that your shiny little scalpel isn't gonna save you. No matter how hard you fight it, you fall. And it's scary as hell. Except, if there's an upside to free-falling, it's the chance you give your friends to catch you.

Meredith and Christina are jogging in a park. Meredith is full of energy while Christina looks like hadn't slept a wink.

"Oh, you're stupid. Oh God. You're a stupid evil sadist." Christina says to Meredith. Clearly Christina isn't a morning person.

"Endorphins are good, they elevate your mood." Christina stops running which makes Meredith to run around her in circles.

Meredith calls herself stupid.

"Slutty mistress." Her friend adds.

"pregnant whore." The blonde comes back.

"Sleeping with our bosses was a great idea." Christina stats with much sarcasm.

"You know what's ruined for me? Ferry boats. I used to love ferry boats. And Derek's got a thing for ferry boats. Now every time I see a freaking ferry boat—." Meredith says and stops running looking exhausted.

"You know what's ruined for me? Coronary artery bypass graphs AND aortic aneurysms." Christina cuts her off.

They both collapse on the ground and lay down.

"Have you cried yet?" Mer asks. Christina looks at her hurt and insulted.

"Hello?" She says as if mer doesn't know her.

"Would we feel better if we cry?" She adds.

"Probably."

"Should we cry now?" Christina asks Meredith who was still laying next to her.

"No."

"Okay let's jog." Christina gets up while saying.

Derek is in the elevator. Richard enters the elevator. He covered his head with a leather derby.

„Nice hat." Derek compliments the chief but a little sarcasm is also in it.

„Shut up." he notices the tease and tells the neurosurgeon to stop talking.

„I'm going back to work."

„You're not cleared for surgery yet." Derek reminds him.

"Leave me alone. I've been sitting home for a week watching Oprah give away things on TV. Oprah, Derek." Derek smiles amused.

The chief threatens him to which Derek replies "Maybe you should have thought of that before you gave chief to Burke and invited Satan to Seattle."

At exactly that moment Addison comes in greeting them.

„I like the hat." she compliments also. Richard gives Derek a look.

"Satan speaks."

"Actually, I prefer to be called 'Ruler of all that is Evil' but I will answer to Satan." Addison replies which makes Richard laugh.
