Never once in your life had you ever thought that you would come to this point.
It had been so long ago since you first tried to picture yourself being in this stage in life; to finally embrace motherhood and to plunge deep into it when you barely had any role model to look up to, and to finally find out what happiness truly looks like.
You have yet to make any effort to make amends with your family after they had sided with your ex during your divorce, and they have yet to try to contact you since you stopped calling, even after you had publicly announced on social media about the arrival of the twins early this week.
Deep down, you have always known that you would have to try and reach out to them at some point, but as of now, you have decided to focus on the present, on building this new life that you have now with Namjoon. As of last night, this new stage in life has become even more colourful and brighter with the arrival of the two little peanuts whose hums and mumbles are filling the hospital room.
Looking down at the sweet angel in your arms, your heart swells in your chest, and the telltale of tears begin to form under your lashes out of all the love and joy that you are feeling inside. You had never thought that you would be able to feel the love that is so intense; the kind of love that you have for your angels.
Now that they are here, you don't think that your body would be able to hold all the love that you have inside your heart for them. Even worse because you also have the same intense love for their father, leaving no more space inside and making you feel completely overwhelmed.
You watch closely at your newborn baby, his skin still soft with a tinge of pink shading his entire body. His eyes are closed shut as he diligently suckles on one of your nipples, his tiny lips pouting as he continues drinking his first meal of the day to gill his little growing tummy.
From the side of your bed, Namjoon's deep voice comes out in a soft hum as he recites a line from a literature piece to the baby boy that he is holding in his arm. Your lips are lifted to a smile the moment you recognise the words, and you cannot help but laugh.
"Why are you reading him a dialogue of Hamlet?" you ask him, gaining his attention, finally, as he looks up from the little person that he has been keeping his eyes on to grin at you.
"I remember reading it to them once when you were sleeping and felt them reacting and kicking from your stomach. I figured they must've loved it," he says, chuckling softly as you roll your eyes at him.
"Are you sure they weren't protesting and asking you to stop?"
Namjoon lets out a soft laugh and shakes his head. "That's impossible."
More tears begin to form when you laugh and meet his eyes. You can see it in his gaze, the same kind of love that you have for your sweet tiny peanuts growing in his eyes as he looks at you.
