Belly had on her speedo swimsuit while Oceana had a dearing black bikini on which made every boy drool over her.
"Ugh, are you wearing your speedo?" asked Oceana teasingly as she slung the towel over her shoulder. "Shut up," Belly snorted as she gave the blondie a shove. Oceana chuckled as she made a bun.
"Shall we go ladies?" asked Jeremiah with a hand gesture. The two friends nodded and they walked to the beach. It was quiet between the three as they walked down the path.
"Did you know that my father comes on the fourth?" asked Belly to the two. "Cool," Jeremiah replied. "Don't you think it's weird?" asked Belly in surprise. "Not really, I love your dad," said Jeremiah as he shrugged. "Yeah, but I understand Belly. They've only been divorced a year and a half," said Oceana as she looked at Jeremiah, who looked back.
"Well, that's so cool about her mother," Jeremiah said as Oceana pushed a branch aside. "What?" asked Oceana confused as they walked onto the beach. "She doesn't give a shit," Jeremiah said as he looked to the Swedish girl.
"It's kinda true," said Oceana as she looked to her best friend. "She doesn't give a shit because she wanted the divorce at the first place," muttered Belly under her breath.
Oceana nodded and pointed to her friend. "I think if you don't wanna be married, you just shouldn't be married," Oceana said as they looked to the waves.
"Well, tell that to my grandma. She basically collapsed when my mom told her," joked Belly. Oceana chuckled.
"Did you know my dad has a new girlfriend," Belly told them. "No way, already?" asked Oceana shocked as she turned to Belly with a jerk. Belly nodded.
"Well, what about your mom. Is she dating anybody?" Jeremiah asked curiously. "No. And oh, my dad has a beard now," laughed Belly. "Your dad has a beard?" the two friends asked Belly. Belly chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah he thinks it makes him look cool," chuckled the Conklin girl. "Well, does it?" Oceana asked. "Kind of," chuckled Belly.
"Do you guys want to race?" asked Jeremiah to the two girls. "I don't know, my ankle kinda hurts," lied Oceana, before running up the sand. "Cheater!" Belly yelled with a laugh. Oceana laughed and dove into the sea.
Oceana surfaced laughing. "You guys are a bunch of losers," Oceana laughed. Belly flipped her off. Oceana pulled her mouth open to say something again but a wave that knocked her over cut her off.
Oceana wanted to surface again, but another wave held her underwater. She panicked and her lungs gasped for air. Two strong arms lifted her out of the water.
Oceana gasped and spit the dirty salty water out her mouth. "Are you okay?" asked Jeremiah worriedly. "Yeah, I think so," Oceana muttered as she wiped a piece of hair out of her eye. "Thanks."
Jeremiah nodded. "Do you even have your swimming certificate, Oce?" asked Belly teasingly. "Yeah, it was the damn waves' fault," Oceana snorted irritated. "In Spain you don't have to deal with this."
"Is our sea lame?" asked Jeremiah teasingly as he raised an eyebrow. "Yeah," said Oceana as she went swimming in front of him. Jeremiah splashed her wet. "Excuse you?" asked Oceana with a laugh. She splashed him back, and that quickly led to a water fight.
Jeremiah grabbed her by the shoulders and quickly pushed her underwater. Oceana panicked and scratched his neck. "Fuck," Jeremiah hissed as he reached for his neck. Oceana gasped as she surfaced. "Why did you do that?" they asked at the same time.
"You almost drowned me," Oceana snapped. "It was a joke, I wanted to pull you back up," Jeremiah muttered as he reached for his neck. Oceana pressed her lips together and nodded.
She could overreact quite a bit sometimes. "I'm sorry, I panicked," Oceana apologized. Jeremiah smiled faintly and let go of his neck.
The two stared deeply into each other's eyes. They had matching eyes.
"Your hair looks funny when it's wet," Oceana joked. Jeremiah rolled his eyes as Oceana began to laugh. "Yours looks like ship's rope," Jeremiah joked. Oceana gasped and flipped him off.
Belly watched the two from a distance with a smile. She remembers how three years ago Jeremiah also used to stare at Oceana, but this year it's even worse.
His eyes softened as soon as he saw the Swedish girl.
"Guys, gross. Stop staring into each other's eyes," Belly interrupted them as she swam toward them. "We weren't staring," Oceana said as she scrunched her nose. Belly looked at her with a knowing look but said nothing.
The sun was already slowly setting. "I think we should go or my mother will report us missing," Belly joked. Oceana chuckled and swam back to the sand.
"You and Oce?" whispered Belly to Jeremiah. "What, no. We were just messing around," Jeremiah hissed back.
Oceana dried herself off and shivered. She wrapped the towel around herself as she waited for the other two. "Hurry up, it's freaking cold," Oceana shivered. "We're coming already!" shouted Belly as she also wrapped her towel around herself.
The three got their feet dirty again from the sand sticking to their feet.
Oceana got goosebumps. She felt her nipples poking through her bikini top. She quickly wrapped the towel around her more so no one noticed.
"Where were you guys? It's already dark," Laurel said worriedly as the three walked in. "At the beach," Jeremiah replied as he walked further inside.
"Oh, come on, Jere. With your dirty feet?" asked Susannah with a sigh. Jeremiah shrugged with a smile. "Whatever. Just go take a quick shower, dinner's almost ready."
