-ˋˏ ༻✿༺ ˎˊ-After the sweet reunion of the innocent girl and rude werewolf, the two found themselves back at Derek's loft. There, on the couch, Peter was sat with a container in front of him on the table.
And his detached finger.
When Abigail saw that, she gasped and averted her eyes by shoving her face into Derek's bicep. Which let to her now poking his muscles while he tried to stitch Peter's finger back on.
"Ow! Don't you have any anesthetic?" Peter asked with a wince. The blonde girl ignored him, not wanting to vomit over his not fully attached finger.
And while Abigail ignored the man, Derek smiled smugly and answered his uncle with an almost sinister 'yup'. The glare that Peter sent his nephew was one that Abi did not want to be the receiver of. With a sigh, Peter ignored it and asked the question on his mind.
"Well, are you at least going to tell me what I risked life-- and digit-- for?"
"I'm going to show you." Derek said. He was now done with sewing the finger back on, the stitches were a bit uneven, thanks to the poking of a certain blonde. Abigail stopped poking the man when he glanced at her with raised eyebrows, silently asking what she was doing.
Embarrassed, Abigail hid her face in her hands, finding comfort in the thought of 'if I can't see him, he can't see me.'
Derek shook his head with a small smile at her antics but that was quickly replaced with a much more serious expression once he laid eyes on the box that they risked their lives for. He grabbed it and twisted the top off, emptying the contents on the Italian table.
"After the fire, that's all that was left of her..." he said with a sigh. Peter almost immediately knew who Derek was talking about.
"Talia." He breathed out. He had a difficult relationship with his sister, but the grief of losing her was obviously still there. He decided to air out the serious atmosphere that hung in the loft and said "I can't decide if that's touching or morbid."
"I guess the real question is... What are you planning on doing with them?" He continued, he figured that they didn't risk their lives just for something that only had sentimental value.
"I have to ask her somethings, and, from what I've heard, this is the only way it's possible." Derek said and stared his uncle in the eyes. It was tense for a second, a silence that hung in the air while Derek waited for his uncle to realize what he meant. Abigail looked between the two men, confusion clear on her face and she carefully grabbed her notebook and pen, ready to ask when Peter answered.
"You gotta be kidding me!"
"Why do you think I sewed your finger back on?" Derek said with a small smirk. He couldn't deny that inflicting pain on his uncle gave him some sort of satisfaction, after everything Peter had done it felt justified.
The two Hales were brought out of their stare down when they saw Abigail waving at them to catch their attention, confusion clear on her face. When she noticed she finally had it, she turned her notebook around for the men to read.
'Can one of you explain to me what's going on at this moment? To say I'm confused would be an understatement'

Abigail wandered through the loft, she didn't hear Derek or Peter but she didn't mind the quiet. If anything she appreciated it, ever since Derek came back he has been hovering over her a bit.
It was valid that he felt concerned, especially when they got another dirt incident. However, Abigail felt like it was a bit too much. She had missed him while he was gone, a lot and actually cried herself to sleep multiple times because she was scared. But now, she longed for a moment alone.
She opened the door the the balcony, breathing in the fresh air. The sound of birds chirping calmed her down as the wind blew through her hair. She liked being outside but she didn't like the feeling of concrete beneath her bare feet. It felt so.. lifeless.
Huffing, Abigail left the balcony to go back inside. However the sound of yelling caught her attention. Hesitantly she walked to the living room and gasped when she saw Peter sticking his claws into Derek's neck.
Tears gathered in her eyes as she saw the blood dripping down his neck. She rushed forward to stop the older wolf, but he had heard her coming and held out his hand.
"Stay there blondie," he mumbled, "it'll only be more dangerous if you touched him and interrupt."
Halting in her steps she, she looked between Derek, Peter and the claws in Derek's neck. She had to admit that it did look dangerous.
The way Abigail looked at peters nephew made his heart ache. There was so much care and affection in her eyes as she kept a watchful eye on him. He may have a heart of ice but the way the two interacted made it meld a tiny little bit.
It made him long for that type of connection with someone.
After a long while, Derek gasped and almost janked Peters claws out of his neck as he shot forward out of the chair.
"Did you see her?" was the first thing that Peter asked his nephew. Derek stared at the ground, sighing when small hands landed on his shoulder and back.
"What did you ask her?" Peter was almost hysteric as he fired questions back to back in Derek's direction. Derek wasn't as amused as his uncle though, in fact the things that he heard from his deceased mother were more than enough to shock him. "Did she say anything about me?"
Derek stared at his uncle with a glare you did not want to have directed at you. Abigail glanced between the two Hales, confused as to what was going on but not blind to the hostile energy in the air.
" ...Well, that doesn't look good." Peter said upon staring at the face of his nephew. He, just like Abi, wasn't blind to the energy that hung in the air.
with a growl he walked away from his uncle with Abigail trailing after him like a lost puppy. They ended up in his bedroom, Derek took a seat and ran his hands over his face. The girl slowly walked over to him and took a seat next to him.
they sat there in silence, just basking in each others presence. Derek was lost in his thoughts, Abigail wanted to say something but did not know how.
