'Are you okay?' Abigail wrote on her notepad and turned toward Derek who was staring out the huge window in the loft. He briefly glanced at the paper to read the words before turning back to the window with a muttered 'yeah'.

The truth was, Derek was stuck thinking about the Ninjas that had infiltrated his home. The way their eyes glowed and made someone drop down to the ground was astounding. Not like anything he had ever seen before and it worried him.

With a huff Abigail crossed her arms and walked over to the chair and plopped down on it. She knew there was something bothering him and it frustrated her that he didn't want to talk about it with her.

She fiddled with the bottom of one of Derek's shirts that she wore. They were like dresses for her and they hadn't gone out to get her new clothing yet. Which gave her an idea.

She stood up and went to stand behind Derek and kept poking at his back until he turned around to face her.

"What do you think you're doing?" He mumbled as he turned around, eyebrow raised in question.

With a shy smile, Abigail showed him her notebook.

'Can we go get some clothing for me?'

With a frown he read the words. Slightly offended.

"Why? You don't like wearing my shirts?"

Every time he saw Abigail walk down the stairs in his clothing, something primal in him woke up. He felt a deep form of satisfaction with the fact that she was surrounded by his scent.

Abigail's eyes grew with a gasp and she quickly wrote something else.

'No! No I adore wearing them, however I would like to have some clothing to call my own. Something a bit more.. presentable if you will.'

"Right.." Derek grumbled. With a sigh, he agreed and they walked out of the loft to go do some shopping.

Abigail was delighted, she was able to go outside and soak in the sun and the sound of the birds flying and chirping. It gave her a sense of peace. Now with uplifted spirits she got into the car after Derek had opened the door for her.

And as always he helped her with her seatbelt

The drive to the mall was short and silent. Derek didn't say much and neither did Abigail.  obviously.

With child like wonder, abi stared at the large building that was bustling with people. She had never seen something like this, so big and full of things and people. She liked it, but was nervous to be around this many people. She wasn't used to that yet.
