Tension fills the air as I'm pressed up against Zaiden. His warm breath and the close proximity between us makes me sweat. He could've picked a better hiding spot because I might get cooked if we continue on like this. The voice grumbles as the footsteps walk around the room. I try to move but my antlers are stuck. It's not comfortable like this.

Zaiden must've sensed my discomfort and pulled me closer to him to avoid my antlers from being crushed by the roof of the hole. Although I can't see anything but the patterns on his clothes, it's pretty comfy despite sweating from the heat.

Soon, the footsteps leave the room to go search for another concern to deal with. "Hey Yara, are you a deer or a reindeer?" a voice reaches close to my ear that almost makes me jump. Why would he ask this question out of all others? "I'm a reindeer," as soon as I answer, he shoves me out of the hiding spot before following me behind. I let out a quiet grunt as I roll, hitting my head on the trunk of the tree. I feel like my antlers are gonna fall off if I keep damaging it like this.

"Sorry about that, I think I broke my tailbone," he apologizes and helps me back up on my feet. He's still as dramatic as he used to be. I bet it's just sore rather than broken. I roll my eyes before we hear another set of footsteps coming towards the room. "We need to get out of here," he suggests and I agree. We rush through the way we came in but the ice I made had already melted. Doing the same thing might attract more attention than we'd plan.

Before I can think of another solution, Zaiden pushes me through the waterfall and he trails behind. Is he out of his mind? Before I can complain, he takes my hand and leads me through the same halls we went through, dragging me to the exit. We're both soaking wet from his quick actions without thinking of the consequences.

Once we exit the building, I feel the cold air kiss my skin and the water drip from my clothes. First I was sweating from the heat, now I'm shivering from the cold. Temperature is annoying at inconvenient times. I turn to Zaiden who's nervously running his hand through his dampened hair. He offers me a handkerchief and I look at him with disgust. Who knows what's on that dirty thing. He raises a brow at me, looking offended at my expression.

"It's clean, don't worry," he reassures me but I'm still not convinced. Germs are disgusting. "Ew, no. It's been stuffed in your pocket for who knows how long! It's probably gathering all your sweat," I huff, but he doesn't seem to be taking me seriously. "So you'd rather be soaked than damp?" he chuckles. Yes, I'd rather be soaked than be dried with a dirty handkerchief. But I don't say that out loud. So you know what? Maybe he's the one that needs to get his hygiene right.

Zaiden walks me back to my dorm and I apologize to him for dragging him to a suspicious room. I feel bad but then again, he won't let me feel bad for him. I walk inside the dorm and shut the door behind me. Sipher and Amelia don't seem to be home yet. I sigh to myself before grabbing the chicken pie and the deer plushie Zaiden got me. As I make my way to my room, I notice an envelope on the inside of the the pot of a decorative plant that stands between mine and Sipher's door.

I throw the plushy into my room to clear my hands and take the envelope into my hand. I'll explode if this is another letter from that secret admirer. I'd cry if I found out a stranger broke in and it'll be all my fault if Amelia or Sipher ends up getting kidnapped. I study the envelope and this time, the design is different. Instead of my initials engraved into the wax seal, it was a butterfly. I flip the envelope to see my last name written in cursive on the top left corner. I walk into my room, placing the letter and the chicken pie onto the desk.

After showering, I decided not to read the letter yet to spare me shivers running down my spine. So instead, I hop onto my bed, leaning onto the head of the bed before reaching over to grab a novel and my chicken pie to get comfortable with. Just as I'm about to cuddle into my fluffy blanket, I almost jump hearing a knock at my window.
