chapter 33: support system

At Iris office...

As Iris sits in her office, her mind consumed with thoughts and doubts, a notification appears on her phone. It's a tagged photo, and as she opens it, her worst fears are confirmed. Axel, her partner of seven years, is cheating on her. It explains all her doubts, suspicions, worries and puzzle. It explains Axel being cold and distant... The betrayal hits her like a tidal wave, crashing over her in a torrent of pain and disbelief.

The next morning Janna visits...

Janna, her best friend visited her the next morning giving her support and advises.

Janna: Iris, I'm so sorry to hear what happened. How are you holding up?

Iris: (voice trembling) I don't know, Janna. I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down.

Janna: I can't imagine what you're going through, but I want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what.

Iris: (tears welling up in her eyes) Thank you, Janna. I don't know what I would do without you.

Janna: You don't have to go through this alone, Iris. We'll get through it together.

Iris: (sniffles) I just can't believe Axel would do this to me after all these years.

Janna: I know, it's devastating. But you're strong, Iris. You'll find a way to get through this.

Iris: (nodding) I have to, for my own sake. I can't let this betrayal define me.

Janna: That's the spirit, Iris. You're stronger than you know. And remember, you have so many people who care about you and are here to support you.

Iris: (taking a deep breath) You're right, Janna. I can't lose sight of that. Thank you for being here for me.

Janna: Anytime, Iris. Lean on me whenever you need to. We'll get through this together, I promise.

Iris' staff, visit...

Sewer: Iris, we heard what happened, and we're all here for you. We're like family, and we'll support you through this tough time.

Iris: (emotionally touched) Thank you so much, everyone. Your support means the world to me.
