At the end of the break, I returned to my office, ready to tackle the tasks ahead. Positioned right across from Engfa's office, I had a clear view of her movements through the glass walls. Despite the chilly vibe, the office felt bright and open, flooded with sunlight.

Later on, P'Sun who is apparently Engfa's right-hand man according to Tina and Heidi, called me into Engfa's office for a special assignment. So without further ado, I stopped whatever work I was doing and headed for her office.

I approached Engfa's office door, my hand hesitating for a moment before knocking lightly. She answered with a laconic "Come in", in a curt, preoccupied tone.

When I entered, I found Engfa deep in a pile of documents, her attention entirely taken up by the task in hand. For several minutes, I stood there silently, feeling almost invisible in her presence as she meticulously examined the documents before her.

Finally, Engfa glanced up, her gaze meeting mine for the first time since I had entered. "Sit," she instructed, her voice curt yet commanding.

I complied without a word, taking a seat opposite her desk as she continued to sift through the documents. The silence between us was palpable, the weight of Engfa's focus bearing down on me like a physical presence.

After felt like an eternity, Engfa finally looked up, her gaze piercing as she addressed me directly. "Charlotte I need you to review these reports and prepare a summary for tomorrow's meeting" Engfa stated firmly, her gaze unwavering. "We have a crucial negotiation with one of our biggest clients, and it's imperative that we're fully prepared to address any potential concerns and secure this deal."

She then got up from her seat and came to my side, explaining the intricacies of the task at hand, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and excitement. Her presence was imposing, her demeanor authoritative, and yet there was something undeniably captivating about her.

I listened attentively as she described the details of the negotiation with one of our biggest customers, her voice poised and assured. But amidst the sea of words, my attention was drawn to something quite different - the subtle scent of her perfume wafting through the air, enveloping me like a delicate embrace.

Engfa's proximity was electrifying, my heart raced as she explained that I'd be negotiating with one of our big clients. She mentioned that the meeting with Mr. Alonzo was in two weeks, giving me plenty of time to prepare.

"Aside from the contractual details," Engfa's voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to reality, "I need you to ensure that our client understands the full scope of our services and the value we bring to the table."

I nodded, doing my best to mask the swirl of emotions churning within me. "I understand, Ms. Waraha. I'll do everything in my power to ensure the success of this negotiation."

Engfa's voice was as cool as the air-conditioned room when she said, "Charlotte, this is a crucial opportunity for you to demonstrate your capabilities. I expect nothing less than excellence."

"I understand, Ms. Waraha. I'll do my best to ensure a successful outcome," I replied, determined to meet her expectations.

As I worked on the preparations, Engfa emerged from her office to confer with a colleague. Their conversation was brief and businesslike, with Engfa issuing directives in her usual brisk manner.

Throughout the day, I couldn't help but steal glances at Engfa as she moved about the office. She seemed to command the room effortlessly, her every action purposeful and efficient. There was something undeniably captivating about her presence, something that drew me in despite my best efforts to maintain a professional demeanor.
