I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through me as Engfa grasped my hand, pulling me along as we dashed through the hotel corridors.
Confusion swirled in my mind, and I couldn't help but ask, "Engfa, where are we going?" But she remained silent, her focus solely on reaching the elevator that would whisk us to the rooftop of the hotel.
With each passing moment, my heart pounded louder in my chest, and my thoughts raced with questions. What was Engfa planning? Why was she leading me here with such urgency?
Stepping into the elevator, the anticipation in the air was palpable. I stole a glance at Engfa, hoping for some clue to her intentions, but her expression remained unreadable.
As the elevator ascended, I couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation that coiled in my stomach. When the doors finally slid open onto the rooftop, I was met with a breathtaking view of the city skyline, bathed in the soft glow of city lights.
On the rooftop, a vast pool glistened under the city lights, offering a breathtaking view of Seattle's rooftops. The shimmering reflections of nearby buildings in the water gave the impression that the stars themselves were coming down to reflect in this urban pool.
Engfa guided me to the edge of the rooftop, where a cool breeze ruffled our hair. Shivering slightly, I couldn't help but ask again, "What are we doing here?"
Turning to face me, Engfa's eyes held a mysterious glint as she replied, "I wanted to do something tonight."
Her words hung in the air, laden with anticipation. Despite my uncertainty, I found myself unable to look away from her gaze. There was something unspoken between us, a connection that transcended words.
Standing together on the rooftop, surrounded by the city's twinkling lights, I felt a sense of exhilaration and trepidation. Whatever Engfa had planned, I knew that this moment would be etched into my memory forever.
Engfa's sudden entry into the pool, still wearing her dress, caught me off guard.
She waved me over with a smile, but I hesitated, fearing I might catch a cold. Engfa assured me that the pool was heated, but I remained hesitant.
"You didn't tell me you had a playful side too," she teased, prompting me to reconsider. Without further ado, I joined her in the water, fully clothed, succumbing to the lure of the moment.
As we reached the edge of the pool, with nervous laughter, I stepped closer to Engfa, feeling the warmth of her hands on my hips as she drew me nearer. My heart was racing a mile a minute, and in that moment, I completely forgot that Engfa was my boss. All I could focus on was the electricity coursing through me as she pulled me closer.
I couldn't help but shake my head in disbelief. "You're crazy, you know that?" I said, my voice a mixture of amusement and incredulity. "Who goes for a swim in the middle of the night?"
Engfa grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Well, life is too short to always play it safe," she replied, her tone playful. "Sometimes you just have to take a leap and see where it takes you."
"Is that you saying that? Ms. Waraha, who works every day until 10 p.m.," I said, amused.
"I told you I was full of surprises, didn't I?" she smiles at me, moving a lock of hair from my face.
I couldn't help but laugh at her response, despite the lingering nervousness in the pit of my stomach. Engfa had a way of making even the most reckless decisions seem like the most natural thing in the world.
As Engfa looked deep into my eyes, her touch lingering on my lips, I felt a rush of butterflies in my stomach. It was an inexplicable sensation that both exhilarated and disturbed me.
