Arzoo's POV

He just walked out, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I can't recall exactly when I drifted off to sleep, but I vividly remember how I woke up.

That night was filled with tears, my pillow soaked through with the weight of my emotions. But there's a strange silver lining to crying your heart out: the sleep that follows is like a gift from the heavens.

As I slowly emerged from the depths of sleep, a strange feeling on my face startled me awake—a warm, wet sensation gently brushing against my cheek. Heart pounding, I bolted upright, my eyes wide with alarm. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I was met with an unexpected sight: a friendly dog sitting beside me, its tail wagging enthusiastically. But before I could fully comprehend the situation, its tongue darted out for another affectionate lick, causing me to let out a startled yelp and scramble away in shock.

"What happened?" My gaze landed on the couch where Sir had been sleeping.

'When did he come back? Did he see that I was crying? I hope he didn't,' I thought anxiously.

"Oh, Taffy?" he exclaimed, noticing the dog beside me. "Let me take him away."

"It's fine, I'm not scared of dogs. I just got startled," I quickly reassured, trying to mask my surprise with a forced smile.

We both freshend up

It was much-needed wash, feeling like a completely new person afterward. The combination of soothing music, a good cry, and the exhaustion from it all had left me feeling utterly drained. A cold shower felt like a blessing from the heavens, washing away the heaviness of the day.

"You could have slept in the bed, you know. I mean, I can crash on the couch," I remarked as I dried my hair, stealing a glance at the mirror.

"No, it's fine. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. It's the least I could do," he replied, running a hand through his hair

"I'm used to it, really. Back home, we only had one room, and my sister, Ahsaas, and my mom used to sleep on the bed. I always ended up on the couch," I explained, nervously toying with the hem of my saree.
