Isn't it sad how we sometimes act like the things we love will last forever, even though we know deep down they won't?

Arisha, too, grappled with this truth as her understanding of the world sharpened.

The Tawanias were wealthy, incredibly so, yet who would choose to spoil a child conceived through such a tragic circumstance as rape? She bore the weight of a secret that society would rather ignore. The child of rape, she was a living testament to the harsh realities that often remain hidden behind closed doors.

"Arisha" as Aarnav's voice interrupted her reverie, Arisha was pulled back into the present.

On the flip side, Aarnav was taken aback by her reaction. While he harbored doubts about her veracity, he also grappled with the sense of betrayal. His frustration escalated to the point where he wanted to yank his hair out by the roots. The internal struggle left him uncertain—should he trust or dismiss her words?

Desperate for connection, he extended his hand toward her, but she recoiled, whispering, "N-no, don't." The tension hung heavy in the air.

"You didn't believe me back then," she began, her voice trembling. "And now, I owe you no explanation." Her eyes bore into his, defiance and vulnerability warring within her. "You cannot blame me for anything now," she continued, "because it was you who wanted to marry me, not the other way around, okay?"

Her anger flared anew, memories of accusations and hurtful words flooding back. "You called me a traitor, a liar, a cheater," she said, her voice raw. "Fine. Now stay with that."

"You wanted to have a taste of betrayal," she seethed, her voice a blade. "Fine. I'll give you that—so much so that you'll beg me for mercy." Her eyes bore into his, a tempest of anger and hurt. "But you won't get it."

"I am not like my sister Aarnav; I won't shatter even if you attempt to make me",  Arisha declared.

With that, she spun on her heels and stormed out of his room. Every object that bore his imprint felt like a stifling weight upon her chest.
