"Park Jeongwoo and his brother are investigated for illegal manhandling and possession of drugs. I heard their father hired an expensive lawyer, it's obvious they'll get out with bail or a fine. Ugh! The judicial system here sucks!"
Sunoo complained at the lunch table. The group had flocked around an entire table as they relentlessly dragged the names of those involved in the eventful day five days ago. A week was yet to pass but so much had happened.
"What about the stalker?"
"Oh. She wasn't sued on the terms that she'd be sent to a juvenile correction facility. Jaemin-hyung said that her record was… um, a lot," said Jake, sipping his smoothie with ease.
"That's nice to hear. But I hear Sunghoon's still got a handful of stalkers so any thoughts on the rest?" asked Jungwon. He was leaning carelessly on Jay's shoulder while munching potato fries; the sort of posture that mother's absolutely despise. But hey, Jay didn't mind.
Jake pondered to himself for a moment, humming. "Hmm. As long as they don't cross the line of sneaking inside his house and stealing personal items. Or send disturbing stuff. If not, his management will handle them."
To say he wasn't bothered wouldn't be an understatement. Sunoo was relieved seeing him talk about the incident with ease; much better than fear was it not?
"Guys, do you wanna go camping?" asked Ni-ki, out of the blue.
There was silence for a good amount of time. Then grumbles and denial followed. "Nah. Living in Sherlock is like camping 24/7. I think I'm good," said Jay.
"Yeah. Sorry, Riki. But you can choose other options."
Ni-ki placed his fork down. "Forget it. I haven't really given it any thought other than camping. But give me some time, I'll think of something fun for all of us."
"The headline is one month," said Jay, raising a finger to make his point. "If you can't think of anything good in one month, it'll be my turn."
Ni-ki did not like the sound of that. "Rest assured. I'm sure mine will be better than whatever idea you're thinking," he retorted with a huff then looked away.
They laughed at him, but Jake couldn't force himself to smile for long. He would occassionally glance at his phone on silent mode. His screen would lit up reminding him of several missed calls from a person he saved as 'Do not answer'.
Actually, it was Sunghoon who made him save this number like that. And it was Sunghoon's parents whom he saved that way.
"I feel evil," he said to Sunoo once it was just them in a cafe after classes.
"It must be pretty bad, for Sunghoon to make you act like this."
"Yeah. His parents were absent in all aspects of his life, they only appeared to pressure and verbally abuse him so he doesn't want anything to do with them.""Sounds about right from what the rumours say," said Sunoo.
Jake couldn't help but sigh. It was dreadfully long and exhausted. "How did they even get my number? They just won't give up."
"Rich people have many ways; I do too. Do you want me to help you get them off your back?"
"If you have a way, please do. I haven't told Sunghoon about the several missed calls because I know he'll snap at his parents. Their relationship is already on eggshells, I don't want to make things worse but I really can't stand this stubbornness from his parents' side."
Wow. Sunoo was rendered speechless. He broke from his trance and patted his friend on the back sympathetically. "You've been through a lot, hyung."
Jake rolled his eyes. "Tell me about it."
"But I also think Sunghoon should know, hyung. After all, they're his parents and I have a premonition that he won't like it if he finds out that you hid this from him."
And Jake was so glad Kim Sunoo was his friend. "Okay. Thanks, Sunshine."
Sunoo beamed. "Anytime, hyung."
♡
Sunghoon has never felt better. The criminals are being placed at where they belong; places for highly disturbed homosapiens. He has a boyfriend now, a real one instead of a fake one. And while his return to the music industry was held back, his gigs were pretty much hefty which meant the world still loved him and wanted to see him.
"Mr. Park, this way, sir." A tall, young, blond man motioned him behind a satin curtain of red and purple.
Behind the curtain laid a room drunk in champagne and perfume. People the world knew only on TV screens pertaining in movies, commercials, magazines and whatnot. And some, who'd rather work behind the scenes. All of which you could find in this room.
"Ah. Sunghoon!" A woman's delighted voice rang. She was middle-aged but completed with the gracefulness of a rich madamoselle. Also because she dressed like in perhaps the most ludicrous, expensive pieces of jewellery a woman could ever wear.
"Sophie," said Sunghoon, exchanging a chastised greeting with her. "It's been too long. How are you?"
"Very well, darling. Now attention ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to my favourite muse," she said to the people surrounding her table, all familiar faces to the screen, "Sunghoon Park. Or as the people in his country would call him, the Ice Prince."
Sophie was very proud of herself for having had the man to her knowledge. In fact, 'Sophie' was the heir to the largest jewellery conglomerate in all of Europe and the American continent. She and her team had approached Sunghoon two years ago to use him as their ambassador for their new ventures in Asia.
Sophie bemused it was the best decision she had ever taken; the success had landed her in her father's favour, ultimately securing her position as heir.
On the other hand, Sunghoon had his own share of profits. The largest he's ever accomodated in fact.
"Sunghoon, this is my daughter Yvenne."Sunghoon was introduced to a nice looking girl, gorgeous actually, striking and sophisticated like a modeller. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss." He bowed to her as they were far from shaking hands.
"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Park."
And polite too!As Sunghoon was about to feel impressed by the young Miss Yvenne, she did the unthinkable, completely throwing him off and her good impressions down the drain.
As the young lady leaned on the table, her cleavage came to view. Almost all the women in the room were dressed rather lightly but what made Miss Yvenne stand out was that she battled her long eyelashes slowly, glancing at Sunghoon with a delicate smirk and green eyes seductively reprimanding him speechless.
Oh?
