[Jubilife City Police Precinct]

"We'll stick around, Silas, but it seems there isn't much else to uncover here, whether it's the Pokétch issue or these cultists." Looker said, leaning back in his chair. A thin trail of smoke curled upward from the small cigarette perched between his fingers. The long hours and sleepless nights were catching up to him, his eyes were red-rimmed, his voice a touch raspier than usual. He looked more like a ghost haunting the precinct than an International Police officer. Even his Croagunk, who usually looked unaffected, wore a tired grin.

Around the table sat a mix of local and international detectives, their quiet murmurs occasionally punctuated by the faint scratching of pens on paper. Among them were Silas, an Elite Four member, and his younger brother, Riley. Against the far wall, Silas's Lucario stood like a silent sentinel, its black fur blending with the shadows, eyes sharp and alert.

Silas clicked his tongue in frustration. "We need to return to Canalave soon. There's business waiting for us there. But it grates that we've found nothing, no leads, no scraps of evidence. They've gone back underground." His fingers drummed the tabletop as his narrowed eyes fixed on the middle distance.

"I'll stay in touch." Looker replied, though his sentence was cut short by a sharp ringing. Silas glanced down, the heavy buzz in his pocket snapping his focus.

With a quick apology, he pulled out his device, checking the caller ID.

Argenta.

"Now's not the best time." Silas said, lifting the phone to his ear.

"Oh, that's lovely, dear, but I believe this is worth your attention." Argenta replied, her voice lilting yet firm. Normally, her eccentric warmth bled through every word, but Silas immediately detected a shift in her tone, something colder, more urgent.

"What's wrong?" His expression hardened, and Riley's Riolu perked up, sensing the change.

"Make your way to eastern Jubilife." She said, her tone almost playful, though it carried an undercurrent of steel. "And bring that adorable little brother of yours, won't you?"

Riley stiffened, a faint blush creeping up his face. The detectives exchanged puzzled looks, clearly unsure what to make of the one-sided exchange.

"Team Rocket's getting anxious." Argenta continued, her words sharpening. "It's the perfect chance to crush their operation here for good. What do you say?"

Silas's grip on the phone tightened. He hadn't even known Argenta was in Jubilife, let alone surveilling Team Rocket's base. She'd gone ahead without informing him, a habit of hers that grated on his nerves.

He sighed heavily. "Fine. We'll be there in a few minutes, and I'm bringing the International Police with me."

On the other end of the line, Argenta chuckled. "Oh, the more, the merrier, I suppose. Though I imagine things might get messy. Best to cut the dead weight, wouldn't you agree, darling?"

A few of the gathered detectives bristled at the comment, but Silas said nothing.

As much as he hated to admit it, her point wasn't entirely wrong, compared to someone like Argenta or himself, most of the team wouldn't last in a fight.

He ended the call and rose to his feet in one swift motion. "Looker, gather your best men. We leave immediately." He ordered, his tone brooking no argument.

Looker nodded, already motioning for his team to assemble.

"Lucario, Riley, let's go." Silas turned on his heel, the brothers moving in tandem as they exited the precinct.
