Surely, Jiang Cheng was right. there was something up with this entire visit. Why else would someone invite a person they hadn't seen in over 2 decades for something they would normally not even go to? There hadn't even been many people at the banquet. It involved Lan Wangji, the trio with Jin Ling, and a black-robed individual standing in the far corner, his face engulfed by shadow, but Jiang Cheng knew the figure quite well. A figure that he could never forget.

His smile faltered as he neared the anonymous figure, his lips quivered as he thought of the possibility. There was no way...right?

He could feel the boring eyes of others on his back but dismissed them. He reached out a hand to...him.

"Wei Wuxian--if that's you, I swear to god--" Jiang Cheng bit his lip, to prevent himself from crying. He had came up with a lot of situation on if he ever found his brother again. But he didn't think it was possible since his brother was dead, he died, in front of his eyes--because of him. And if he had just reached his hand out to help him up, none of this would ever happen. He blamed himself for that.

The man in the corner didn't respond, but his body visibly stiffened. Jiang Cheng inched closer.

"If it's you--please do say so."

The man stepped forward.

"How have you been A-Cheng?" Wei Wuxian smiled, tears pricking at his eyes.

"You fucking jerk." Jiang Cheng cried and couldn't help but embrace his brother into a tight hug. He buried his face into his brother's shoulder, letting his tears fall. "I'm so fucking sorry. I'm so sorry.." Jiang Cheng sobbed as he felt Wei Wuxian whisper it's ok against his neck. 13 years, he had been grieving in silence, waiting for a moment that he believed would never happen. But here he was.

"I'm so sorry-"

Jiang Cheng smiled as he took a seat on the edge of the dock entering Biling Lake. His bare feat gently tread the water as he admired the gorgeous view in front of him. It was a little later than noon and many of the villagers had retired into their homes for supper, leaving the bustling streets of Caiyi, almost empty.

HIs reunion with Wei Wuxian had been a rollercoaster, with surprises along the way. He had cried it out with his brother for an hour before he was able to regain composure. A bit later the feast had begun. Truly it was the best feast Jiang Cheng had in his entire life. And truth be told, the food wasn't even half bad. Turns out the chef was finally replaced and god bless the disciples who had been saved from the previous atrocious food.

"I see Sect Leader Jiang is enjoying his time here then?" A coarse voice spoke out from behind him and he smiled.

"I am indeed. The people here are wonderful, and so are the sights." Jiang Wanyin replied, his feet retreating under the docks.

With a grunt Lan Xichen settled down beside Jiang Cheng, his boots far behind him and he dipped his own feet into the chilling water.

"You are getting quite old Sect Leader Lan. Grunting while sitting down is not something you used to do when you were younger." Jiang Cheng commented with a smile. It was meant to be a tease.

"Oh! I must say, I am only 41. I have quite a bit to go."

"I'm pretty sure 40 is when people start to consider you 'aged'." Jiang Cheng paused. "Say, Xichen---you are not yet married. Is there a reason you are not?"

Lan Xichen's raised an eyebrow. "Am I required to get married, Wanyin?"

Jiang Cheng stuttered. "No, of course, no. But you were and still are considered the cultivation worlds most eligible bachelor. It would have taken a heartbeat to get married for you, I'd presume."

Lan Xichen turned back to look into rippling water. "I am waiting for my love to retire to me."

Love?

"You---"

"I do not know if they love me. I am to only hope they do, because--if I do this and I am rejected--I will forever be lonely in the confines of Cloud Recesses."

Jiang Cheng blinked in confusion. Do what? Reject who?

A pair of lips landed softly on his own, enchanting him in a fluid kiss, leaving him breathless. The Zewu-jun was kissing him. Jiang Cheng felt a surge of lightning pierce his skin. Fuck! Kissing had never felt this good before. For a short moment, he felt as if he was dreaming, but the tongue in his mouth said otherwise. The latter pulled back, blinking at him in confusion. But, god did he want more.

"What do you say, love? Will I be rejected?" Zewu-jun asked, tirelessly, his breath short, from all the kissing.

And Jiang Cheng couldn't help but break into a tiny smile. This was a dream he had dreamed about for years---and here he was.

"No."

Jiang Cheng retired to the Hanshi with Lan Xichen later than evening and boy did he find out that Lan Xichen is indeed not getting old.
