Damon quietly walked into the nursery and gently shook her awake.

"Good morning, princess." Damon said half whispering.

"Mornin." She replied.

Damon helped her get out of bed and helped her change into a pullup and some new clothes. Alyssa was now in a pastel pink sweater with a hot pink butterfly printed on it with matching light pink frilly shorts. He grabbed a hairbrush and tied her hair up into a ponytail, and tied a pink ribbon on it.

"You look so pretty in pink today!" Damon said, admiring his choice of outfit on her. Alyssa giggled.

Damon picked her up and took her downstairs. Stefan was drinking blood from a glass, trying to hide the fact that he was drinking blood from a blood bag.

Damon put Alyssa down on the floor and went into the kitchen to make breakfast for her.

"Hey, Stefan. Do you want anything?" Damon called out from the kitchen.

"No, thanks. I'm fine!" Stefan called back to him.

"Okay!"

Stefan watched over her while she was playing with her toys by the window.

"Blue... red... green... uum... pink!"

Stefan chuckled at how cute she was.

"No, that's orange, not pink. You're wearing pink." Stefan said to her. She looked back up at him. "Oh... orange."

She continued pressing buttons on the little toy, and it named the colors for her.

"Come here, sweetie! Time for breakfast." Damon called out from the kitchen. Alyssa got up and walked with her teddy bear named Mr. Bones to the dining room to have her food.

Damon sat Mr. Bones in the chair next to her, so she felt like she was having breakfast with him. She finished her plate of pre cut pancakes with a little extra butter and smiled.

"All done!" She shouted while putting her hands up.

"Good job! Now, let's get you cleaned up." Damon said as he cleaned her face with a napkin. She began to whine and squirm in her seat, trying to get away from getting her face cleaned.

"I know you don't like this, but I need to clean you up."

"NO!" She shouted.

"Is someone getting grumpy with me?" Damon asked her before he got rid of the dirty napkin.

"No!" She said again.

"No throwing a tantrum, or you're going in timeout." He warned.

"Hmph!" She took Mr. Bones with her back to the living room and pouted.

Damon put her plate into the dishwasher and walked back to the living room to continue watching over her.

An hour had passed, and Alyssa thought she saw someone in the corner of her eye and looked out the large window to see a man standing just outside the house, staring back at her. She breathed heavily, knowing he was the same guy from her nightmares and the pictures in the mansion.

Damon ran up to her and knelt to her level. "Hey, you okay? What's wrong?"

She froze and looked back at Damon with fearful eyes. She looked back at the window and saw that the man was gone.

"Did you see something scary?" Damon asked her. She slowly nodded.

Damon sat criss cross on the floor and held her on his lap. She looked into his eyes and trembled with anxiety.
