Jack sat on one side of me while she sat on the other. I just can't believe you have to ask me something like that?! I turned to Jack my fists balled. Does our past mean nothing to you? Our death?! I since then have put it on a chain. These things in here I grabbed the ring from around my neck were all that I had from my past life. It used to be all I knew. Until Jack came along before that adventure I went on back in April. And then I saw them all.

And now I know now I remember the rest. 300 years ago back when we were all alive It was the year 1712. Actually the new might not had come yet. But I digress. The 3 of us were given these rings as Christmas presents that year our last one together.

Jack's sister Mary had begged Jack to take us ice skating just like you guys do when winter comes and goes. At first he kept telling her no because we didn't have ice skates. But we also got skates because of North that year as well.

And if you knew her you know he could never say no to her for long she was actually just like you Jamie looks just like you basically you're the male version of her. If you had another Jack for that nesting Russian doll thing they might be loyal and devoted.

There are so many good things about you but all anyone sees the troublemaker they don't even see the masked hurt because of it. If you try to correct me I will tickle you silly. I know you better than anyone Jackson Edward Overland Burgess. I didn't say anything.

But you were thinking it. I know that look better than anyone. You can't hide anything from me. Maybe back then it wasn't for attention or hiding pain maybe it was just boys being boys but now it's a little different. You want attention you want contact you want to be seen.

Anyways the next day that's exactly what we did. We went to the lake and we were ice skating but the ice wasn't stable all the way through. We were literally skating on thin ice. And we were in trouble. And now you know where the phrase came from.

Well as you know Jack is the guardian of fun we all were there we all saw it. He didn't like seeing us be scared. He wanted to make this fun for all of us. He took his skates off. He said we were gonna have a little fun instead and asked if he would ever trick us.

Mary and I were skeptical at first because yes that as you know is something Jack does and is very good at. He promised nothing bad would happen to her that she wasn't gonna fall in. Because well the ice was cracking now. Mary likes playing hopscotch.

It was something we pretty much did every day. And it happened to save her life. He showed us as he went. He was safe. But then it was our turn. It was as easy as one two three. Or so he said as it should've been. To get her off the ice he needed his Shepard staff.

The staff he now carries around and probably wouldn't have his powers without it. While he promised Mary would be ok that she wouldn't fall in he didn't promise he wouldn't. And he didn't know about me. While we had been safe originally it didn't last.

Jack fell into the cracked ice. We can't swim there were much more important things to do back then. Chores taking care of Mary or in Jack's case pulling pranks. And me making sure we didn't get into more trouble than it was worth because of said pranks.

I did something brave and stupid. I could've run with Mary to get help but there was also no promise they would've been able to get to him in time and he still could've drowned. No instead I dove into the water but it was winter so it was also really cold.

I grabbed his hand but it was way too cold and like I said we couldn't swim and still can't and it's something I've been afraid of with bodies of water because of this bloody thing around my neck but unsure why and now I know because it's how we died.

I tried to hold on but the ice water made it impossible we drowned dying together. Both tragic and romantic. But at least we weren't alone. It makes a little more sense now after seeing all of my memories and not just the ring around my neck.

But you guys keep asking me to go ice skating and I keep changing the subject. So now the answer is just no. I know you do your best to make sure that the lake is always covered in ice even in the summer and how people can swim now but no.

They will never go ice skating at least not on a body of water instead of something man made like an ice rink at like a hockey stadium or in the winter when they replace the grass with an ice rink. But they won't ever go ice skating at my hand.

I know we're immortal now and it's possible we can't die again but we just saw Sandy die not 6 months ago or about 6 months ago by this point he died when no one believed in him until the kids started believing again and you could as well and I'm not gonna lose you again.

Not in any way shape or form never again. And if you so much as let any one of them especially my sister step one toe on the ice without me present I will let that little secret slip to the rest of the guardians. You want attention you want contact?!

Fine! You'll have it more than enough then you know what to do with it and it will never ever stop. Sandy and Tooth have no leverage against you to behave or revenge they just want to see you smile and laugh and Tooth is going to adore adorable little laugh of yours.

North will use it to make you behave and if Bunny gets his hands on you wow every prank every whatever you will never hear the end of it and if Pitch were one of the good guys well you better pray and hope he never finds out about this while he's still a villain.

You will be putty in everyone's hands. I'd say or I'm gonna kill you but I just told you I'm not gonna lose you again. I smirk as I kiss his nose. In the meantime it will be our little secret. So behave yourself or at least never let them get on the ice without me present.

And until I say I'm ok with them being on the ice even then not a toe is to be on that ice. Consider this your one and only warning. I give him a quick peck on the lips and a scratch under the chin. You don't want more than you can handle your friends are already enough.

Trust me. You guys keep asking me about ice skating that's why not. The answer is no! N.O. Not yet at least. You're all hearing it which means you also can't find a way to manipulate him either he knows the consequences I suggest you all heed my warning. You wouldn't want to be jumpy around human contact that you so much crave. Would you?
