"There are other girls to flirt with besides the ones we save, you know?"

ㅤChimney loved Buck, in that annoying kid brother way, but also wanted to make sure there wasn't an ill-fated return to Buck 1.0. They had just had a whole conversation about it, not even a minute prior.

ㅤ"I don't flirt with the girls we save-" Buck was cut off by a cold stare. He thought back, I mean there was the earthquake girl, the snake girl, the reporter..."Fine, well not all the girls. That's at least true." He muttered the last part sipping his beer.

ㅤChim rolled his eyes, and Buck continued. "Look, she turned me down, and I'm Buck 2.0 now so I'm man enough to move past that. She asked for friends, and I am an evolved man. Friends with women I don't work with or that I'm related to. I'm ready to hit the field, dip a toe into this dating world" Buck would have gone on more about missing Abby, but Chim was too busy texting someone.

ㅤThe waitress stopped by to drop off Chimney's second beer and he stopped her. "Can we get a glass of Chardonnay?"

ㅤ"Who's that for?"

ㅤ"Maddie, she's parking." Chim said looking towards the door.

ㅤBuck added another two glasses for Zoe and Jane to be safe.

ㅤ"Wait, I knew my sister was coming but why are you texting her about it? Since when do you guys...text?" Buck asked incredulously, his eyebrows creasing.

ㅤ Before he could respond Buck saw two blondes enter the bar and his face lit up. "Jane! Zoe, we're over here!" Buck called out and the shorter sister led the two of them over to their table. "Glad you both make it tonight. Uh, my sister Maddie is parking apparently, and should be here soon."

ㅤ"Hello Evan, thanks for the invite." Jane said as she slid into the booth next to Buck, and Zoe took the seat across from her, sitting next to Chimney. "Chimney, always a pleasure." She wiggled the hand in her sling.

"Yes, thank you for inviting us. Although, I'm not looking forward to being that one's designated driver yet again." Zoe teased.

ㅤ"As I keep telling you, I'd love to drive you home. We know paramedics now so when I cause a 10-car pileup they can help dig us out." Jane taunted her back.

ㅤ"You are dark Jane, I like that about you." Chimney elated. Before greeting another woman, who must have just arrived. "Hey, Maddie!"

ㅤ"Hey guys sorry I'm late, I always get on the freeway, even though I know it will almost always double my travel time." Maddie said as she took the seat on the other side of Chimney.

ㅤ"That is because you, my dear, are an internal optimist. Hey, this is Zoe and Jane, friends of the 118." Chimeny introduced.

ㅤ"Wait, Jane from the construction pit?" Maddie asked facing Jane now. "I was your 911 operator, Maddie!"
