How he became that: James was born from a Romanian/Jewish werewolf mother, whom his father didn't know was a werewolf when he met her and fell in love with her. James was eventually turned into a lycan, when he ran across one in the woods at night. Him and the lycan got into a fight, causing the lycan to bite him and somehow taint his blood over to a lycan.

Background:
James is the older brother of Alison and son of Chris Argent. He grew up in a loving home, apart from him and Victoria not exactly getting along when he got older and knew of the family being hunters. James ignored being told that it was his duty, to become a hunter like his father and to hunt werewolves like himself down, but he couldn't bring himself to do so. Instead he took his training and decided to take it to the army, to do some good in the world with his training and help those who couldn't help themselves. James did pretty good in the army exceeding pretty well, making it up to Sargent before getting disqualified with honor due to a injury. He is not a fan of we hunt those who hunt us, type memo because he doesn't see the point in harming people who aren't exactly doing anything wrong. He tries to help keep people safe, even if it puts him in harms way to do so.

How he got injured and with what:
James was on a mission with his team, when  things went sideways causing him to get burned badly on his left shoulder, making it scar up pretty badly to the point that the arm was burnt off. He immediately had surgery for his wounds, but every once in awhile he still struggles with feeling like his limp either numb or on fire,

How his arm was fixed:
James eventually was given a new arm after undergoing surgery for it. It is a metal/mechanical arm, looks and feels human, that also can turn with his wolf forms. It causes a ripple effect, to change with him as his body changes. But the claws on that arm turn metal, instead of normal claws due to how the arm is designed.
