James started to groan softly as he eventually started to wake up. He blinked a few times, taking in where he was. He noticed that he was in his bed, covered up with a blanket and dressed in new clothes. Which was weird considering, he remembered passing out after defending his mate after being attacked by the huntress. "I need to check on her." He thought to himself, wanting to go check on his mate to make sure that she was alright.
James sat up carefully, feeling a bit better then he had previously. He felt his trained ears, picking up on voices talking to each other. One he recognized as his mate and the other, as Scott along with Derek and his mom? He pulled the covers back, getting up out of his bed til he winced feeling a pain in his left arm. Making him sit back down, looking at it to see his fingers twitching but not moving.
"Shauna calm down. We'll get it figured out." He heard Derek Hale telling his mate, who let out a growl not to happy at Derek for what he was saying to her. "Calm down? You want me to calm down, knowing that my mate's arm at the moment isn't able to work because of people shocking him! He's already been through enough as it is.
Not even that but how am I supposed to feel, knowing that we're both being hunted down by that stupid huntress and Gerard. So no I won't calm down, until both of them are either caught or stopped." With that she got up and walked away from the table, to go check on her mate and to calm down.James stopped paying attention after his mate stopped talking. He sat on his bed staring at his arm, before groaning in pain almost holding his left upset shoulder where the flesh and metal met. He couldn't bring himself to look up at the doorway, after hearing the door opening completely. He was in to much pain to look over at it, even though he knew who it was just by the scent and his bond mark.
"Your awake. And hurting." He heard his mate's tone go from happy to sad, making it known that while she was happy about him being awake she was also sad to see him in such pain. "Here." James looked at his mate letting her, unbutton his shirt to look at his metal arm and shoulder.
Before wincing and gripping his shoulder, it burned so bad that he almost wanted to scream because of how much it felt like it was on fire. "Your arm looks okay, but something's still not right with it. It shouldn't look metal like it does, not that it's not pretty like this, but something isn't working." James moved his hand letting her look at it, as he gripped his bed covers gently from the pain. "May I?"
James just nodded, not wanting to speak from how much it was hurting. He watched her gently pull the panel off on his forearm, before checking it over. "Hmm...I think I know what's wrong. But you need to put ice on your arm, it looks kinda red. I'll be right back." He felt her stand up, kissing his forehead before walking out of the room.
He looked towards where she walked out, waiting for her to come back before groaning as the pain got worse. He squeezed his eyes shut trying to block out the pain, as it intensified making it harder to fight back a noise of pain with everyone around.
James soon heard his mate rushing back to the room, with a extra set of steps behind her. He opened his eyes looking up to see his mom, right behind his mate, but she looked like something was bothering her. "Here babe." He looked at his mate, watching her as she gently sat the ice pack on where his flesh and metal connected.
He let out a grunt of pain, as she gently bandaged the ice pack to his shoulder, before taking away some of his pain. "Thank you." He rasped out to her, relaxing enough to let her look at his arm to fix it. "You gave us quite a scare James. Your lucky to be alive." Amelia told him, not to happy that the huntress nearly killed him or at least tried too.
James looked away from his mate fixing his arm, to looking up at his mom as she sat down in a chair. "It's my fault and I know that your unhappy with me for my choices.
And I don't blame you for being upset with me for them, because I regret them too. Not a single day goes by, that I did not miss you or your father. You were always on my mind, even when I was running and almost killed once by the huntress,
I still thought of you and getting back to you. To tell you, that I wanted to never leave you both again, til I found out your father had married and moved on, I tried and eventually did."He looked at his mom, listening to her words not sure why to say to her. "Deaton." Was all he said, receiving a sad smile from her and a soft nod of her head. "Yeah. We met when I had you. I couldn't go to a hospital, so he helped me when I went into labor with you. We became good friends, close friends until I left to protect you. From the huntress, not knowing that she'd find you and come for you. Along with your mate."
