Dakota and Lyla are sitting in Lyla's car. Their hands laced together, Lyla rubs circles over Dakota's knuckles before raising her hand to her lips kissing it.

Dakota: I'm sorry. I didn't want to snap like that. It's just.......we haven't seen him in two years. Only postcards on Birthdays and holidays, that's it. I know he's my dad but I----

Lyla: It's okay.

Dakota: I still remember the look he had when I told him I was gay. He looked at his own daughter like I was nothing

Lyla: It's okay. I don't know why I hide it from my parents for as long as I did

Dakota: You're lucky your parents accepted you. I just wanted my dad to do the same with me.

Lyla: I know you think it's a total girl think but I've always had this vision of my wedding. I'd be 25. There'd be this huge reception and dancing and toasts.

Dakota: I've never envisioned my wedding and I'm a girl. You've seen me dance

Lyla: No. I really haven't. What I'm talking about has nothing to do with you, Kota. '

Dakota: If you're being honest, just----

Lyla: No. It's just I haven't been applied to a college yet and you haven't even said whether which one you're going to----

Dakota: You think I'm not going to college?

Lyla: I know you are.

Dakota: I didn't lose my brain. I'm gonna go to college. I'm gonna leave this backwards thinking stupid ass town in the dust. I'm gonna make something of my life. We'll have friends. A big house and a picket fence. Couple of puppies and that whole thing you dream about.

Lyla: Kota...

Dakota: Getting married's not gonna change that.

Lyla: Sounds like you're envisioned more then just a wedding.

Dakota: Maybe I have.

Lyla: I just don't want to rush into anything and make a mistake

Dakota looks at her slightly hurt at those words

Dakota: Message received, Lyla. Loud and clear.

FOOTBALL GAME

Billy: Hey Tim, Kota. Hey!

He reaches grabbing both the twins, Tim is in his football gear while Dakota is wearing her cheerleading outfit.

Tim: What are you doing?

Dakota: What's going on?

Billy: I need an extra ticket.

Dakota: Too bad, Billy

Tim: The game's about to start. You know that

Billy: Hey. Hey.

They follow his gaze seeing their dad standing on the other side of the fence looking at them.

Billy: Dad's here.
