"She's beautiful," whispered a breathless voice.
Blood-soaked and sweating of foulness, the nurse grabbed the infant, smacked her hard on the behind, and handed the shrieking, slimy bit of gory human flesh upside down by it's heels to another woman named Lud.
"What do we do with her?" Lud asked.
"I don't care. She's rubbish. A bit of lust from a moment's fiery passion. A bastard daughter. Get it out of my sight," said the nurse.

Lud knew just what to do.
She wrapped the infant in a warm towel and scurried away.
Crazy Mary had just given birth to a stillborn baby days before. This little creature would be the perfect substitute for the doll Mary cradled, and a wonderful way to rid the poor woman of the milk that threatened to burst the skin of her engorged breasts.
